any chance we could get the brackets on CoronaCamera to show the extents of the depth of field, similar to the Max physical camera?  Its the one feature that I am missing a lot from switching to corona camera.

Created at Mr.P Studios as part of our weekly 'practice'/r&d projects.  We were each given a random number from 0-9 and random colour to create a small illustration for the 36daysofytpe project that runs on Instagram.  I got 8 and blue and decided to make a character.

The character was sculpted in Zbrush, fur was done with the standard Max hair and fur tools and rendered with one of the Corona daily builds.

We were never able to reproduce this bug. Could you please generate minidumps from both 3ds Max and DR server processes on the slave machine next time this happens? That will hopefully point us in the right direction to fix this bug instead of introducing some workarounds.

Any chance we could get a "restart on render end" (similar to VRay Spawner) checkbox for distributed rendering with Version 2?  We are having no end of problems with CoronaDR just sitting idle. 

It is communicating with the host machine, receiving jobs and downloading everything, then just sits at around 5-7GB in memory and either never starts or stalls on parsing scene.  We have had this issue since 1.5 and it would be great if we could have this completely resolved for Version 2.

The problem isn't job specific and happens on every node/workstation we have.  The only way to fix the problem is to close CoronaDR and then reopen, then everything picks up fine.  So if CoronaDR would have an option to auto restart on render end, it would stop us from having to babysit our farm out of hours or over the weekend.

We have just upgraded across the studio to 1.7 hotfix 2, and noticing a couple of problems.

Some scenes crash a couple of times on backburner before they actually pick up and render, which is pretty standard with BB, but seems to be more frequent since the upgrade from 1.6.3

One of the errors we are getting, both on BB and when rendering locally, is Corona version mismatch, Slave version 1.6 (hotfix 3), Master version 1.7 (hotfix 2)... etc etc 

All the machines across the studio are running the same version, I have checked the IPs from the errors and the nodes that are coming up with an error definitely are running the same versions.

This was our final image for this years The Monster Project.  Its a cool little project where kids draw monsters and artists from all over the world recreate them in their own style.

We finished this a few weeks ago using one of the Corona daily builds, not sure which one, but absolutely loving the new skin shader.

Using Max 2016 (not sure about other versions)...  When opening scenes that were originally created with Corona 1.5 the 2D Pan and Zoom function is missing for the [ + ] options in viewport.  If I ad 2D pan and zoom to my quads I get a missing plugin message.

Checked on a few scenes I created at the beginning on the year and had the same outcome on all of them.  I can merge everything into a new file to fix it, but if i merge my render settings the problem is brought over to the new file.


this is with RC7, I'll try 8 tonight and see if the problem has gone

I am having sporadic noise level values during my render, instead of the noise level gradually decreasing over time I am getting jumps up of up to 1%.  I'm currently rendering a pretty heavy scene and my noise level has gone from 4 to 3.5 to 2.8 and then jumped back up to 3.5 then to 3.25 etc.  This has happened a few times throughout the render.  I have my system set to autosave  .cxr's at intervals, but I'm not sure if the noise jump correlate to when these are being saved out.

not a biggie, but prob still worth mentioning...

Had a couple of issues with interactive not updating  when I moved the Corona Camera.  Seemed to only happen when moving in the z axis..  This was with RC 1 btw.

the camera prevents some bugs of physicalcamera, and genrally has better UI, because it is tailored for corona. Why is physical camera better for you? we can improve corona cam behavior ;รบ)

Fair enough, I'll make sure I start using it.

The main things I prefer with Max's cam are, the 3 focus lines in the camera cone that are displayed for DOF showing where the DOF will fall off. 

And, the camera clipping display (red mesh/line in viewport) too.

both very small things, but make my workflow slightly quicker and better
