[C4D] Resolved Bugs / Very long "Preparing scene data"
« on: 2018-02-28, 18:54:45 »
Hello!

I've recently started to notice very long "Preparing scene data" phase when I hit render.
Even if the scene is not huge. I can't figure out what's the deal.

I'm attaching model of the house I'm working on. I've completely cleaned the scene of all objects that might make the prep phase longer, very little improvement.
I get 20s of prep time on my six core machine, 64GB ram.

Can someone else try and report if he gets long times as well?
I'm using last version of corona.

CINEMA 3D model here: https://we.tl/R1buXconlc

Thanks for your help,
matej

[Max] I need help! / Denoising in animation - interier
« on: 2018-02-12, 21:13:54 »
Hey!

I'm about to render a 100s animation of interior spaces.
I'm getting some noise in certain parts of the images and I'm thinking of using denoising. But should I?
I don't have much experience with animation in Corona and I'm worried it might be some flickering?

Any advice would be apreciated!

thanks
m

Thanks.
The only problem now is that Corona for C4D doens't allow saving in cxr :)

Does this work also on Corona for Cinema?
In other words: are Cinema and Max users using the same Corona Image Editor?

thanks

[C4D] General Discussion / Z-depth & glass
« on: 2018-02-08, 15:16:31 »
Hey guys!

I'm doing some test renderings and preparations for final rendering of arch viz.
I'm planning to do DOF in post aftereffects by rendering a Z-depth pass.

So I'm having some trouble with setting up Z-depth so the black&white gradient would continue going inside the building and not stopping where the glass is.
I know I can re-render only the Z-depth map with the glass elements turned off, but I prefer doing it in one pass.

Is there a setting I'm missing?

Thanks,
matej

[C4D] General Discussion / Deadline + Cinema + Corona
« on: 2018-01-31, 09:55:48 »
Hello everybody,

I'm close to finishing an animation project.
My friends have a render farm that uses Deadline (https://deadline.thinkboxsoftware.com/) to distribute frames across the render farm.

Does anybody have experience with working with it. Any issues or things I would need to be cereful about when rendering with Deadline?

thanks

Thanks for the info @houska!
What time may we expect the update with this feature included?

regards.

Thanks, @houska.

So the way I use stage object for multiple cameras in one scene is using keyframing. On keyframe "0" I put first camera in the "Camera" field of the Stage object, then I bake the KeyFrame. Then I move on frame "1! where I put my second camera in the "Camera" field of the Stage object, and so on....until I put all my scenes cameras to the Stage object.
Then I render all the frames as animationa, from frame 0 to let's say frame "5" for the scene with 6 different scene cameras.
This was I get out 6 stills.

The reason I'm using this method instead of batch rendering is that I get the visual indication of the progression of the rendering for each frame (even before the frame is finished) - bare in mind that I render each frame for a few hours (if there is a mistake under batch rendering I can't see it until the frame is completely finished...with Stage object I can see the mistake right away).

History of all renders in VFB would solve that problem yes! At the moment there is only the last rendered frame in the VFB viewer.
What exactly would the Autosave function do? Save each frame separately?

thanks a lot,
matej

Hello everybody,

I've just started out testing Corona's amazing LightMix feature.
However I have a question regarding saving finalized renders as .cxr in situations where I use "Stage object" to render multiple camera shots in a single project.
Under "Render settings/Save" there's not an option for .cxr. The only way to save it is directly from VFB, but in VFB I'm able to see only the last image rendered.
Is there a way I can open all imagse from my "Picture viewer" in the "VFB viewer"?

Thanks a lot,
matej
