[Scatter] I need help! / Masking Corona Scatter
« on: 2017-04-01, 00:24:59 »
Hello everyone!
I would like to know how can I create a Mask for a  Corona Scatter object.
I tried to mask via material ID, Object ID (corona scatter and proxys) and via manual selection.
But nothing works.
Anybody know how to do it?

Can somebody explain, for a similar situation (an office glass panel ), the difference between to use refraction color instead absorption color? Thank you.

Maybe uncheck: Render Setup>System>Frame Buffer>Clear VFB in between renders?
I think it would solve your problem.

What I do is to activate bloom and glare(the checkbox in the vfb) after I  have saved the other elements. Or just I simply leave it at 0.0, and increase it after saving the rest of the elements. Then  you can  save the bloom and glare pass separately, with the setup you want.

Hardware / Re: Laptop for VR
« on: 2016-11-25, 04:22:44 »
I have an  MSI Dominator. Nvidia gtx 870. Quad i7 2.8 cpu . Monitor 17 inches. RAM 32 gb. SSd 512 gb.
Regarding  portability, is pretty bad, because is really huge for a laptop. The battery is heavy.
Nevertheless I am pretty happy with this machine,  because I do not need to move it constantly, just from time to time. It is powerful, considering that is a laptop.
I use it for modelling and render. I guess that my next machine will be MSI again, due to the relationship price-quality, pretty good. I have seen in Amazon some MSI desktop that are really interesting. My previous workstation was a Dell T7500 (2009), dual Xeon motherboard, nvidia quadro, etc. Despite its age, it still being 25% as fast as the MSI i7 for rendering.  But Dell workstations are too much expensive for me now, so I can not upgrade to the current version of Dell workstation.

Yes, it is a real device, made by a swiss company.
Apparently, people like it a lot.
A bit strange nowadays, for a game in which you do not shot down, punch,  kill, or mutilate anyone.
All you do is fly over New York, Paris or any other city.

Thank you for the explanation. I have followed your instructions, but I have not gotten  the expected result.
I am not using cCameraMod, just the physical camera. The EV spinner in the vfb still not working.
Does anybody have any suggestion for this issue?
I prefer to use physical camera due its possibilities for  perspective control. I have tried with standard camera and CameraMod, but it is not the same.
Corona 1.5.

I have fallen in the depths of photographic exposure due to the use of physical camera + cCamMod. I can not get the simple exposure spinner  in the vfb.
I have found a thread that talks about that.

Thank you very much for your help!

Thank you Juraj.
So, if you are not using motion blur or DOF...has any sense to use photographic exposure instead simple exposure?

[Max] I need help! / About ISO
« on: 2016-10-21, 21:01:40 »
Hello everyone!Newbie Corona user here.
I would like to know if,as in digital photography,  exists in Corona a relationship between ISO and noise level.
As far as I understand (I am not a photographer),  in digital photography, when you increment the ISO, the image will become more noisy, and due to that, the usual recommendation is to keep the ISO between 100-200 whenever possible, and it is recommended to adjust the exposure via f number and shooter speed.
Have we to have the same considerations when we make a render in Corona? Is it better to adjust the exposition mainly with f number and shutter speed?
