Ondra's "maybe" is better than some developers' "YES!" ;]

There was a mention by Vlado that Optix Denoiser doesn't preserve HDR data, which would be shame, but perhaps that might get improved.

But it's undisputably massively fast, making it great solution as preview mode during rendering, which I believe they mostly market its use as. It could exist alongside Corona denoiser.

For me it would be interesting if A. it would work in real time while interactive rendering and B. it would ease memory requirements on big resolution renders. Otherwise i have no problems with Corona's solution at all.

Yeah this would be super big during interactive. That would revolutionarize the workflow and finally make interactive...well interactive.

When I see these software ( Clarisse, Octane etc..) I understand how bad and slow is the IR in 3ds Max, even with a few geometries ((

I had a job that required me to do a section perspective, so I switched over to VRay Next beta for it (vraycilpper).  I have to say, the Optix denoiser was sweet for IR :)  Although when I tried to use it as a final render denoiser it ran out of vram on a 5k image.  Using a GTX 1080 Ti, they said they're hoping to improve this a lot once nVidia releases an update.
