As the title says. Everything starts off okay but as soon as I stop the render and activate the IR, the shadows disappear. Spooky!

Small vid is attached.

What version of Corona is it? What are the light sources in the scene? Does it happen in all scenes, or just this one? Thanks!

Hi Tom, I'm using the latest build. The light source was a spot if memory serves me right. I'll try and recreate tomorrow (and share it) as I'm away from my PC now. Can't confirm it happens in other scenes as I was quickly trying to demonstrate shadows for another post. It was a lucky stumble across. I'll keep you posted.

Cheers for the info! I recreated your scene, using the parameters for your light from the video, but everything works normally here with the same shadows in IR as in offline rendering. Could you upload the affected scene? While unlikely given the simplicity of the scene, any chance that any of the objects or scene itself was created in an earlier version?

Hi Tom, I recreated the scene. Still happens. All of which was made with the latest Beta build. I've attached the file for you.

Hi Ben, the scene works the same in IR and in offline renderer. Standard renderer gives a slightly different result with no shadows, but that is given, because C4D cannot interpret the Corona light.

Works here, but yes the Test Scene as provided is set to use the Standard render, and not Corona. So, if I hit Render with the scene loaded "as is", I get a render with no shadows in the Picture Viewer, as it is using the Standard renderer and can't process the Corona Lights. If I start IR with the scene "as is" (having opened the Corona VFB), then I get a render there with shadows, which is kind of interesting since Corona isn't set as the render engine.

If I set Corona as the render engine, both IR and offline render show as expected in both VFB and PV.

@Tom: If you press the Corona IR button, the rendering will start using Corona renderer, even if it is not set in the render settings. We have recently added this behavior for convenience.

It's pretty cool, and far better than getting nothing at all, or some error message :) Was a surprise to find that it worked lol!
