I wil post at least bit interesting images ;)

All of theese images are more like Try n Failish (trial and error) way...

So...

here we have crystal like formation... without difracting color...

I always do such stuff when testing renderers.

Can't wait for SSS or you could try lowering refraction glossiness in this material.

Few years ago, I made shitti image, now I made just crappy image:)

ps: those white noise specs are dust particles... didnt turned out as I expected....

render time is this insane because i went to bed and let it render over night

Then why don't you make less shitty image this time...  just make the wood texture smaller and add some detail (glossiness map for example), make string material less saturated (not that extremely red) with some slight bump and low gloss reflectivity. Make chrome metal less perfect reflection (glossiness at less than 1), crank up white multiplier to decrease the burn, take a little lower camera angle, add some depth of field, and tadaaaaa, image will look nice ;)

because i forgot to add it is WIP... i realy neede to go to sleep :) Perhaps thiss weekend I will finish this.
