Forgive me and educate me if there is already something similar to this that I'm unaware of.. But I'd love to be able to exclude objects from the sun at an adjustable amount. Say I just wanted to exclude 80% of the light from the sun on a single object. This would be amazing!

you wont like this lol, but i dont use node textures. I use the basic material editor.

I've used both and gotten some weird results...

 No matter what type of material used, when its placed on a flat surface or one side of a cube it creates an inverted displacement. BUT if I place a material on the entire cube it works correctly.

 I've changed the projection between uvmapping and cubic and it doesnt make a difference in the displacement.

 in regards to the IOR, the recent update makes all the corona materials physical so i dont get that weird value anymore.

I've run into this issue a lot doing product scenes. I typically blur the skyline similar to a DOF and then adjust the color values through corona color correct to get some vivid details to pop through so you can get some detail still through the blur. OR you could remove the glass in the windows if they aren't actually reflecting anything around in the scene. but that'll only work for still shots.

I'm absolutely loving the new corona materials, however I have something I want to discuss about them...

1.Has anyone else noticed that the displacement maps have to be inverted from the original material to work correctly?

2.Why is every metal set to 999 IOR? Its physically not correct and I have to adjust every metal to its real IOR value but shouldnt they be the true IOR by default?

I was running into this issue. but then the most recent update allows you to convert to a physical material instead of legacy.

how to:
Convert scene > Check convert corona legacy materials

Should be good to go!
transfers metals, textures, refractions, everything!

Have you tried removing the ambient occlusion and global illumination? you already have the sun and sky in the scene and shouldn't need them.

haha, I thought the expresso tag was causing some sort of curve when the size was adjusted
