How can you import an .FBX so that it updates all mesh objects of the same names as the mesh objects stored in the FBX you are importing without affecting their transforms?

The simplest example is just importing different poses for the same character model over and over in Max but not affecting the position of the character in the scene

Marmoset Toolbag has a feature like this, to "reload" the FBX

Why is it that the Corona Color Correct Texmap contrast setting cannot be replicated using only the default Max Color Correction contrast setting?

Is the Corona Color Correct Texmap contrast using a linear or gamma adjustment?

Is there a way to replicate the contrast exactly with an existing OSL shader?

I need to recreate the effect of the Corona Renderer VFB 'White Balance' tonemapping option in post. How does this effect work, i.e. how is it applied to the image in the VFB? Is it simply a blend operation of a Kelvin-scale linear RGB value?

Is it possible to 1:1 convert a Corona Color Correct map to the generic Color Correction / Output maps?

For example,

1. Is Corona Color Correct map, gamma: 0.9 == Max Color Correction, gamma =0.9?
2. Is Corona Color Correct, Temperature / Green-magenta tint == Max Color Correction, Hue Tint?
3. Is it possible to 1:1 replicate Corona Color Correct Curves in Max Output Color Map?

To simulate a neg frame (black card), typically used in photography / cinematic lighting, should the shader applied to the neg frame plane be IOR 1.5? What should the gloss level be, 0.25, or more?

Trying to improve my approach to film grain (noise) in post to emulate photographic imaging, wondering if anyone has any tips? Also, looking for a premium film grain / noise PS action, or something similar, because I don't really want to spend too much time dialing-in film grain to get the right look, if it can be done in a more efficient manner.

Right now I'm using ArionFX HDR film grain - it's nice, but few options to adjust grain size, color, roughness, etc.

[I've been meaning to make this post for so long, but I just kept putting it off.]

I read numerous blogs posts from Betrand, Ronen, and others, and part of what makes lighting for close-up shots look good is that they often choose camera angles AFTER everything has been modeled and shaded. What is missing from that observation is that their interior close-up shots are being rendered from within an interior space - that sounds redundant, but implies that the shadows cast onto other objects represent an architectural space, i.e. shadows from windows, crossbeams, furniture, etc. These types of shadows help contribute to the storytelling of a shot, mood, etc. and more importantly, these shadows (indirect shading) cannot be replicated using only an HDRI.

Where can I download a variety of interior floor plans? I would like to try lighting product shots staged within an empty floor plan so that I can at least capture some indirect shading from light propagating through an architectural interior, since an HDRI of an interior would not contribute any shadowing, even if it does capture lighting, tone, etc.

Saved a multilayer .CXR that show vignette OFF in Beauty Pass but vignette ON in Interactive Light Mix pass. I have not seen this behavior before, but I don't recall the steps to recreate the issue. I'm only posting in case this issue has been detected already - mostly looking for feedback.

Opened Max (2020) -> Corona Official toolbar -> Press 'Show Corona VFB' -> Nothing happens (VFB doesn't appear)

Render Setup -> Render -> License Activation window appears?

My subscription doesn't renew until April, why am I getting this prompt in October?
I had to reset my login password on the Corona Renderer website and re-enter that information through the license activation prompt in Max to re-activate Corona Renderer(?)

I think the normal maps are configured incorrectly for the interior paint collection in the Siger library, as I've indicated here (end of thread).

I haven't been able to get ahold of *anyone* at Siger. Can anyone else confirm this observation?

Trying to replicate this very peculiar DOF achieved by Magdalena Marczak in a series of images called 'Shadow'. The effect almost appears like double vision, but with a concentric ovoid profile that is apparent on the glass and plant especially.

Also, does anybody have access to a Bokeh kernel library? I assume it's really just the shape of the Bokeh map that is driving the effect + bokeh anisotropy.

There is no clear method for converting a complex [vegetation] shader using the CoronaLegacyMtl to the CoronaPhysicalMtl, and the reason for this is likely due to how:

1. Refraction glossiness is yoked to base glossiness
2. Translucency, thin shell, and thin absorption are decoupled

Should I upload a sample to troubleshoot this, or just rely on the Legacy material for now - until (hopefully) there is an official converter solution for cases like this(?)
