[Max] I need help! / Corona pattern and Railclone
« on: 2022-11-29, 10:55:44 »
Hi guys,
I've been testing Corona pattern to make a building's double skin made of some sort of fencing grid.
So far, the elements are working well separately, but when trying to use railcone to scatter them, the pattern doesn't seem to be recognized by railclone.
Do you have any idea if there's a workaround ( I could explode the geometry after the RC is done and apply the corona pattern to the instances but it's sort of stupid as it looses the parametric approach of railclone ), or if corona pattern isn't simply supported by railclone ?

I've tried to search for simiilar topics but didn't succeed to find any information about that so far ;(
I attach the tests I've done for you to see how things are going.

Any ideas ?

Best,

Hugues

You should maybe stop interactive rendering when importing new objects.

Just my two cents :D

Hi there,

I just upgraded from corona 5 to 6 on 3ds max 2019/2020.
We are used to use the lightmix feature with various hdri at the concept stages, to choose interesting lightin and propose some options to our clients.
Since yesterday, I've struggled with that feature ( that wasn't maling any problem before ) that create an amazing amount of noise, even though we have stats like 0.93% of noise in the image.
I tried using the same hdri alone and we don't have this problem. Same thing with a corona sun.
I've tried varioussecondary GI solutions to see if it could be the cause of the problem ( UHD cache, Path tracer, 4K solver ), but nothing changes.

So, maybe am I missing something, or there's a bug.
I'm going back to corona 5 for now.

What's your opinion about this guys ?

All the best,

Hugues

Hi there,

Here is a question for which I couldn't find the answer online.
I'd like to recompose the final output using the CShading_Shadows pass in order to add shadows of cutouts flawlessly into my final output.
Do you have any idea how to do it ??

I saw the other threads and tutorials about assembling the Cessential passes but they don't take into account the shadow pass, and that doesn't help much then.

Looking forward to hear from you,

All the best,

Hugues
