When I press "c" and go into a camera everything seems fine, but when I hit render it starts rendering an entirely different region. I then have to show all viewports and press "c" and pick the camera again for it to work.

I did hit some kind of button combo that messed with the viewports, but can't seem to figure out exactly what I hit. Any hints?

Not a very professional advice, but I do not know what exactly is going on:
Play with this part of the render setup window. You may need to uncheck the "lock icon" then switch to your camera again, and lock it again. Or just unlock/lock it few times. Also, check what is selected in the "view" list.

Can you send the scene here or over support*? You can remove everything except for the problematic parts if possible.
