We're going run the process explorer tomorrow. But I think we figured it out - the computers that doesnt work are running the norwegian version of Windows, the ones who work are running the english OS. And one of the other posters ("oxivisuals") seems to be a norwegian company aswell.

Corona 4 doesnt speak Norwegian...

Found out how to do it - but the problem is that MAX wont open, it stops at the "green" loading screen, how do we then get a .dmp file?

18
It didnt work - and I can't see your signature :S

Updated from Corona 3, both with and without the hotfix. We've tried uninstalling and reinstalling on several computers, doesnt help. Only 2 computers at the office have successfully installed the update.

Can't open MAX after updating to the latest version of corona (others at the office has the same issue).

MAX loading screen stops at "Loading plug-in: C:\Program Files\Autodesk\3ds Max 2017\plugins\CoronaUtils2017.dlt"

Any solutions?

[Max] Feature Requests / Bitmap To Object ID
« on: 2019-05-06, 16:02:42 »
3Ds Max has object ID and Bitmap ID, but no way of using them together.

PROBLEM:
Making 4 boxes that has to have the same material, but not the same color. If a client wants a change in the material and not the color, then I would have to replicate the change for each material.

SOLUTION:
Assigning different object IDs for each box. Then have a multi/sub-object&bitmap-map where you could use (e.g.) coronacolor for each diffuse-color (basically the same function as multi/sub-object, but not for materials).

This is probably something Autodesk should do, or maybe someone even has (?)

I've never done this, but today it happened - I pressed "Render" when I aimed for "Lightmix" and my overnight render disappeared. Those buttons should really not be that close, even if this is the first and only time I've done this.

Is there a way to get the old render back? I didn't save anything out, and the current VFB i all black....

nvm, seems that it's the softwware of our 3D-navigator equipment that is causing this :S

[Max] I need help! / Memory problems with corona 1.7
« on: 2017-10-30, 10:34:43 »
Both me and my co-worker have been getting this error message upon rendering after the release of corona 1.7. The top text is in norwegian, saying; "Not enough memory to keep running the software". We both have 64gb ram, and our scenes are NOT that large, so this crash shouldn't really happen based on memory.

So is this a common bug with 1.7? or is it just random that it happened to us both after the update?

Seems to happen with all the renders, so I guess it's a MAX issue. I`ll take to their forums :S

After an upgrade to MAX 2017 the tiling in my material-preview has somehow multiplied. The "Preview UV Tiling" is set to 1x, but it seems like it's set at 4x (makes it impossible to see what I'm doing with my corona materials).

Any smart tips?

What about SamplingFocus render element? It shows sampling distribution on your render and thus should tell you what parts requires most computing.

Ya, I did a test with all the passes, and that seems to be what I'm looking for.

Thanks!

I've heard of a vray render element that shows what areas in an image that takes the most computing to render (heavy ares/ heatmap of some sorts), and was wondering if there is a similar pass in corona that can show me something like that?

I'm struggling with a scene being heavy to render (but it shouldn't be)

thx
