You're right... with V-ray it is possible to do a single export, but not directly with Corona for now. I hope this feature could be added in the future.

Hi. I would like to know how to make Corona Proxies with the option of turning on/off the different meshes as some of the Proxies found in ChaosCosmos.

Hi Avi. I have been checking and i found the error. I imported 20 USD models in my scene and they have a USDPREVIEWSURFACE shader. It makes my WS to go slow. When I override a base material to all the scene, the CPU runs at 100%... when I hide the USD models, the cpu runs at 100%.. We I unhide the USDs the problem comes back.
There's no way to convert USDPREVIEWSURFACE to corona for now, so I think that maybe that could be an opportunity area for the corona Team.

1. What version of 3ds Max you are using with Corona 10 RC1? << 2024.1
2. What are the hardware specs of the system which is using 80% CPU utilization? << AMD 3960X - 64GB RAM - ASUS PRIME MOBO - M2 DISKS
3. What operating system is installed on this system? << W10 PRO
4. Please make sure there is no thread limit is set on this system. <<IS NOT. THE ERROR ARE THE USD FILES.
5. All systems which are taking part in DR using Corona 10 RC1 and same version of 3ds Max? <<YES. SAME WINDOWS, SAME 3DS MAX, PLUGINS, UPDATES, CORONA, ALL IS THE SAME.
6. How is the DR setup? Are the systems connected via LAN? and you are using Corona DR? << AMD 5950X - 64 RAM - M2 DISKS... ALMOST THE SAME THAN WS. - LAN CONNECTION. YES, IM USING CORONA DR SERVER AND I HAVE ENOUGH LICENCES FOR ALL.
7. Is this a scene-specific issue? For example: This is only happening with some particular scene you are rendering on DR or this is happening even with a very simple scene that has some planes and cubes. << I FOUND THE ERROR. USD FILES.
8. Does the node have a proper Windows, driver, and BIOS update? << YES
9. Make sure that power management is not set to some energy-saving mode, it should be set to high performance. << NOPE
10. It is also important to check the cooling of your node so we are sure it's performing as it should. << ALL IS COOL ;)
11. Is this issue happening only with Corona 10 RC1 and does not happen with Corona 9 HF3 or V-Ray? << I DONT KNOW, I INSTALLED C10 RC1 BEFORE WORKING THIS PROJECT. BEFORE I HAVENT USED MANY USD FILES SO I DONT RECALL HAVING THIS PROBLEM.

Im rendering with my WS + 3 DRServers.
My WS is a 3960X and is the most powerful in my network but now with Corona 10 RC1 I'm seeing that my WS reaches a max. of 80% during rendering and minimums of 65% moving up and down within these values, but the slaves are working at 100% stable.

That 20-30% of loss in my WS represents a lot of power and time.

I tried to stop the Servers and only test with the WS and it stays at 80% max.

Can you help me?

You can do that with just a Controller.
I do it all the time for my HDRs or everything that has a SelectMap or SelectMaterial. With a single click I move from one to another.

Hi.
I don't think that Elements are really a need for IR. We can see them on the VFB already, that's enough.
Less is more.

[Max] Feature Requests / Light Lister // Suggestions

Hi. I'm Mario.

I would like to suggest these things to the Corona Light Lister:

1) Integrate CORONA SUN to the Light Lister
2) Groups of INSTANCED LIGHTS (inside a dropdown list), so we can see only 1 group per line (like Vray's).
3) The main list could be ordered by name, not by creation date (it would be also great to do this in the Chaos Scatter, but that's for another thread).
4) The Icon is still the Pinetree you used for the former "corona scatter". I think a Light bulb or something related will be better for the UI/UX

If I don't make myself clear somehow, please text me, I'll be glad to answer.

Please try the following on all computers taking part in distributed rendering (both the master and the nodes):
1. Go to C:\Users\_username_\AppData\Local\CoronaRenderer and remove all files inside this folder.
2. Activate Corona Renderer again (you can use the standard UI activation or our Licensing Server)

Hi there.

My problem is that my render node doesn't render objects scattered with Corona Scatter. Neither with DR or through Backburner.

Here's my problem through my different tests. Consider that only the Crystal Torus Knots are the scattered objects of this test:

-Animation with Backburner: I launched the animation and the node doesn't render the scattered objects, only the WS renders OK as you can see here (Left buffer shows my Workstation and Right shows the Node):

-Still Image with Backburner: I sent a single still image from my Workstation to the render node and again, the scattered objects didn't appear:

-Distributed Rendering: When I launch a render with DR from my workstation, I get some areas where the Scattered objects don't show correctly as you can see here:

**Important Notes:
- I tried with Corona 5.2 and now a Corona version: 6 DailyBuild May 28 2020 and with both I have the same problem.
- I tried with Multiscatter and the scattered objects render OK.
- I tried with Vray (without scattering objects) and my DR or Backburner works render Perfectly.

// Additional Comment // I sent the scene to a friend who tried to help me and he tried with his WS + 2 nodes and everything renders OK. So it's likely that the problem is in my network or something.

About my PCs:
-Both have Windows 10 with latest updates. (Including the net framework suggested in the Corona help site).
-3ds Max 2017 with the same plugins and SP3 Installed.
-Same render engine in both WS and Node.
-WS is a Dual Xeon and Node is a TR 3960x. But that shouldn't be a problem because with previous versions of Corona I hadn't that problem.
-Both PCs don't have antivirus, they only run Windows Defender.
