Work in Progress/Tests / hair & fur mat question
« on: 2018-02-13, 18:01:16 »
Hi!
I'm testing hair & fur, does anybody know how to achieve this material "gradient" effect from light at the bottom to dark mat like on the photo?
I'm using Corona hair mat.
It's my first hair & fur experiments....Thanks a ton.

Hi, I really like your renders. Beautiful car.
In the autumn pics, the background is way too blurred compared to the very sharp car, but probably you are aware of this (?)....

And the renders with full cg ground look sweet!

Superb stuff & nice to see something different. Keep it up!
I think if Corona can conquer the field of VFX it will be a serious threat to vray - not just in arch / productviz.....(no pressure Ondra :) )

Hi, thanks for your comments and interest.

The export is as simple as hitting a button, I did no cleanup.
Model can be exported as fbx or orbj.
Paint export as vertex color or textures. In this case, I tried fbx and 2k textures.

Then simply imported to my max studio scene, adjusted cams, hit render, that's it.
Also, as long as the model is under 50mb you can have a free sketchfab account and upload it - works like a charm.

The whole process is really easy and much fun. People who claim not much artistic skill are doing quite impressive stuff with medium.
See here:
https://forums.oculus.com/community/categories/medium

Also, when you have not tried it yourself, it is impossible to grasp the concept of sculpting in vr. It's like being in another room where you work.
In videos / images about vr the 3d space is always transformed into the 2d space.

here is a quick test that I did today:
sculpted & painted in VR with Oculus Medium(2-3hrs)(much fun), imported to max & rendered of course with Corona! :)
post with Affinity & ArionFX, unfortunately Arion only works in 16bit mode in Affinity

Thanks man. Besides 2016 I only know max 2013 and earlier and have the best experience so far.
Yes the cockpit is a bit weird, it is not my design, I bought it from turbosquid. But I like the overall shape and design. Materials, renders, and post done by me.

Thank you Advancedo. I use 3ds Max 2016, which imo is the most bugfree and fastest max so far.....
