[Max] I need help! / Opactiy mapping misery
« on: 2015-01-08, 18:28:01 »
Hey,
I have many decals in the form of either dirt overlays, Pictures or signs on walls, imported as TGA's with a an alpha channel.
Alpha works in Vray, Scanline but not corona.
I tried every possible combination of checkboxes for Alpha interpretation and threw in many Corona textures in between, nothing seems to interpret alpha correctly.
Am I missing something here?
With settings that works for other renderes, Corona seems to interpret Rgb as alpha, although I dont have it chosen in the Bitmap setting (image 1). If set RGB mode to ALPHA as gray its works, but obviously without RGB color (image 2).
I can't possibly export a second bitmap with gray values for Alpha for 300+ textures (without going mad, that is)
I tired all workarounds mentioned here: https://forum.corona-renderer.com/index.php?topic=1017.0

[Max] Resolved Feature Requests / Add Passes to Sequences
« on: 2014-12-09, 22:46:25 »
Hey,
doing mostly vfx I see corona currently as not feature rich enough.
However, looking at the resume render/dump option and Cinema4D's (which I hate) direct implemenation into AfterEffects and its ability to improve a render, while/after you are compositing,
I'd love to see the following added:
Let's say you rendered  a 100 frame 25 pass/frame animation and exported it as openEXR's.
There should be an option to add another 100 passes per frame for a given sequence, without the need to reapply all rendersettings afterwards, meaning the inclusion of a potential new *.corona file for render settings.
That would make corona a bunch more interesting :]
