Alpha 5 RC3 PT+PT Default settings (even postprocess is default), lighting is just hdri, no postproduction done just corona render output...

Would it be possible to add into corona a feature where you could specify max ammount of ram you want to dedicate for rendering and if there's more needed then corona would do something like vray, dynamicaly unload and load new stuff?

So that you could render at very high resolution or very large scenes with tons of proxies and textures... or both...

I know this would affect performance but it would make it possible. Maybe at least for bucket mode and pt+pt only would be enough helpful for most situations i think...

would it make sense, or is it even possible to implement such stuff to corona as an alternative to pathtracing??
It's been in PRman and 3Delight for awhile now and the results are fast and clean altough not unbiased..

So Keymaster, Rawa... Can you share with us what's coming up next? After A4 what is the target for next alpha? Are you going now for some hardcore features now?(SSS, Hair, Volumetrics..) Or is there more work in optimizations or some other features etc? Is there something already in the works? Share some magic you're doing now :D

It is starting to be a real pain to be forced to work with other slower and less intuitive renderers due to the fact that they are still the main ones used by studios etc...

Don't really know if it's corona's fault as this is a pretty much fresh installation of win8. But this happens when raytrace material is seen/rendering preview inside material/library. (3.3.2013-legacy/max2013/win8/64bit)
