I got Nvidia Optix DLL bugs often and would like to know how to solve it.
I ve got it on 2 workstations, one GTX 1080 and also the other one RTX 2070 super.

Any tips ?

Thanks :)

Did you try the steps at https://coronarenderer.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/12000048205-nvidia-gpu-ai-denoiser-errors ? That way, we know from which point we are starting :)

Well, after followinf the steps, it keeps crashing and giving error.

After rendering a Region area, as soon as I press stop & denoising begin, it crashes & Max just quitwithout a word.

For crashes, you can send in minidumps (see https://coronarenderer.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/5000524006-how-to-report-issues-3ds-max ). Meantime, I'd use Intel AI or Corona High Quality denoising.

(Also, is this only with Regions? Corona render regions, or native Max render regions?)

Yet it happens in Region yes, but mainly in Interactive Rendering.
Even more when having a youtube video running aside, but I dont remember it when having a VLC video running.
It's Corona region from VFB.

I will try to get a minidump next time, but it didnt even displayed a 3ds Max Error Report last time. Anyway I can get the dump file into the temp folder ?

Not sure what you mean about "into the temp folder". If Max crashes, it should (hopefully) generate a minidump whether it shows an error message or not. Where to find it etc. is in the link. Where to upload it is to our Private Uploader, with a link to this thread :) Since you mention different hardware set ups, be sure to post here which hardware setup the minidump was from.

So we're building up a more full picture here, with this being IR (mainly? Or only?). If also when running videos, could just be the graphics card is out of memory or similar.

Well, I didnt get this kind of trouble on my 1080, so with a 2070 it seems unlikely, isnt it ?
But I noticed that working is unstabler on my AMD TR (+2070 super 8Gb) workstation than on the dual xeon (+ 1080).

Ok, I get it for the minidump file.

It's seems to be only on IR yes, as also i use Corona High Q denoiser for normal rendering.

In the world of GPU drivers, nothing is unlikely :)

Hi,

For this error I would recommend re-installing the Nvidia denoiser through the Corona installer.

It looks as though another renderer or application has loaded or overwritten the optix version. Re-installing it should fix this problem.

Cheers,

Rowan

Hello,
it happens again while interactive rendering, cf screenshot.
Also, my viewport is getting full white, need to restart max and my screen stoped full black before.

I'm on max 2020, RTX 2070 super, all up to date drivers from yesterday (driver booster).
I've a USB-c screen attached.
