Pivot monitor

(1/1)

romullus:
I wonder if it's safe to tilt monitor on its side permanently. I mean monitor which doesn't have pivotable stand and isn't designed to use tilted.

maru:
Not if you are using a mouse with broken button. That would be too much.

But seriously, I have no idea. The only thing I can think of is that usually monitors have heat holes at the top, so if you rotate them, it could cause some problems with heat reduction. But not sure.

romullus:
I will repair my mouse before pivoting monitor on the side, thanks for the warning :]

As for venting holes, i don't think this monitor has such thing at all. It uses LED for backlighting, if that matters.

antanas:
This is my old 24 inch Samsung 245t standing vertically\tilted for more than 3 years in a row so apparently some monitors can do that without any problems, and yeah, the room itself wasn’t decently dusted for approximately same time or more so don’t look too close please ))
