Hi
Regarding the new tonemapping, is it possible to rerender old scenes with old settings in VFB? Do I get the same look?

Existing scenes will load with a tone mapping stack that matches the old set up, and has the values from that scene, so should render identically.

I see no animated keys related to old tonemapping on CoronaCameraMod. It's a Big-BIG problem!

Is there any way to open old scenes with animated exposure and other tone mapping settins with Corona 8 or they are gone forever?

We are investigating, but it seems that it is not possible to animate tone mapping values in V8, sorry.

Wow!
It is very sad news!
Looks like downgrade.

(btw settings in Tone Mapping are animatable, but I see no possibility to recover animated keys from v7 scenes)

You can animate them. But it does not work without problems (I mentioned them after the first daily with new tone mapping came public, it was the first thing I tested). For example, you cannot grab keys in the timeline to move them, you do not get brackets at key positions because it's now an extra non-max interface, Shift-RMB does not create a new key, and keys from old cameras do not transfer anyway (I can understand why and it is tolerable).

Sorry to say, but those issues are that typical animation ignoring attitude Corona development (and QA, which is worse) always had. I have countless open reports about keying, animation and parameter block issues generally. And there is no movement at all.

Quicktip: If you want to animate camera override tonemapping stuff, do not use any old cameras. Create a new (v8) one. So be sure to update any startup scenes with a camera inside.

Good Luck

Never underestimate the power of a well placed level one spell.

May be with Chaos Corona it will change. Only hope remains.

Hi and thanks for the feedback, some of the issues mentioned here are already logged. As for loading old animated data for cameras, and translating it to the new tone mapping, from what I am being told it's quite more complex, we will also look into it and hopefully it can be addressed.
