Yes, it's a shame =(  I think it will be better to wait for the 1.4, but with adaptivity fully integrated in the DR, in my opinion.

So there's a very little or no profit from Adaptivity in DR mode with many PCs. We're using DR with 15+ comps and if only master will use Adaptivity we'll lose all it's power.

Hm... So we have to use old daily to render big pictures in DR with the coolest feature of 1.4 - Adaptivity (as it works in that build). Oh no...

One more reason to release 1.3 hotfix is external renderfarms. Even if we can deal with old proxies inhouse we're can't send it to external renderfarms with daily.

I found it trying to reach reflections of island in the sea with very long focal length camera. And now I'm stuck... HOW it may be???

Have tried to:
When moving the plane away from scene origin, the problem disappears. Fix will be possible, but it will take some time, so stay tuned
but had no successes. More of that. I've got an error  multiplied with jagged edges!

Found strange bug with reflection. Near 0 degrees angle there is an ugly distortion in reflection present.

Look at video.
There are only plane with "mirror" reflection and sphere with light material. As the camera going down to nearly lay on the plane reflection distorts.

Is it possible to have official hotfix for .CBIN proxies? We have much trouble to convert all our project files to .CPROXY through downgrading to 1.2.1 every time. And daily build is not a good idea for production I think.

Just a random idea: are you using forestpack? Could you temporarily uninstall it and see if the same happens?

Do you use UNC location for the bitmap files?

Yep.

And is your server is in local network or remote?

I do not know shurely but might be long parsing be caused by that the distant machines are trying to locate nesesary files but can not sucsede? As i noticed distant machines are downloading textures when the parsing goes on so that is why it might take forever.

But it is just an idea.

All textures are on their places. It's just a matter of seconds to reach them and download. No way to search it for so long.

And i found this on the freshdesk.

3ds Max freezing on first rendering: There was a bug in 3ds Max 2014 causing excessive texture loading times during the first rendering.

We have latest SP5 installed on 2014.

We are still really interested in obtaining a scene where this would happen ON OUR PCs.
