[Max] I need help! / VRayObjectID/aliased masks in Corona?
« on: 2018-03-08, 14:36:12 »
Hey guys,

I'd need to get masks that are aliased from Corona.
Used to Vray and since we switched I'd need to get the same thing out of corona but not sure how to.
Basically the most important is to get aliased mask out of Corona based on object IDs.
Even better would be to get a pass that has all the objects IDs with individual colors corresponding to IDs (always the same so it works on any project) exactly the same as what the VRayObjectID does.
If that's not possible and we need to go with multiple passes with RGB masks, I'll have to bite the bullet, but at least I need to get my masks aliased and not anti-aliased.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Best

Any news for this?
I'd love to have the ability to plug "real" type of camera in corona.
If you look at all the data that we can find in PS or lightroom with build in lens corrections that distort the real cams to get more "accurate" results,
Would be great to be able to replicate those improper camera types (vignette, CC, distortion, etc) as presets like LUTs.
DXO has a freaking list of data as well.
Would be completely awesome to get this embedded inside Corona.

Does this make sense?

I'd love to have some chromatic aberration inside the VFB.

Hey guys, any way you could add the deletion of the VrayColor2Bump?
I have to go through all the materials manually to delete the VrayColor2Bump and it's a pain.

Thanks!

[Max] General Discussion / Re: Corona GPU rendering
« on: 2015-03-20, 23:09:42 »
hey mate,
Any chances you could post that scene with octane?
I'd like to try my GTXs here :-)

If you have any interest : I've done quite some test with Vray RT GPU as prod render here :

I'm just wondering how Octane compares to Vray and corona obviously.

Cheers

Well in doubt and if you can, use Alpha 6 as this is a free version that should stay that way.

I don't want to be rude, so :
That's your point of view ;-)

I would like to see "post production/VFB" multilight integration. Essentially like it's already now for the whole image but specifically for lights independently.
cf Maxwell Multilight : http://support.nextlimit.com/display/maxwelldocs/Multilight

I guess it can't be done through HDCache like Vlado on Vray already stated (with LC) but he said they are working on it through dual brute force.
So even if this can be done through dual PT, it would be great.
Plus, little treat, a little button inside the VFB that could parse the modification done from the multilight straight back to the scene would be the awesome.
That way, one could just start a render, multilight the selections of lights in the VFB, balancing the intensity and the color temps, and send back the modifications to the scene so we can have the final render looking straight good plus being able to render with HDCache.

This would be a killer.

Hum, interesting, I will try that once I can.
I will keep you posted.

Thanks for your quik response Keymaster.

Yes we do have enough ram.
The scene is using 16Gb and we are rendering on 32Gb and 64Gb ram nodes.

You're right, on the master, it doesn't render at 100% but at 90-95% when I don't use DR where as it's dropping at 70-75% when using DR.
Strange because that scene here at home (I work at home and send my render at work) does render at 100% full on.

Any ideas?

[Max] I need help! / Using DR, cpu is not 100%
« on: 2014-09-05, 17:49:48 »
Hi guys, I'm using DR for a large still frame here I've some trouble maxing out the cpu on the farm.
For some reasons, when using DR, neither the master nor the nodes are using the cpu at 100%.
For the 8 core nodes it's about 80% of the cpus, but for the new dual xeon nodes with 40 cores, it's about 50% only.
It's quite some rendering power losses...

I tried to put the interval at 120sec instead of 60 and double the amount of pixel to transfer at once, but it doesn't help.

One thing is sure, it can't be network related.
We are rendering all day long through Vray with 50 nodes.
We've got high grades 10Gbps switches, the server with 20Gpbs throughput and all the nodes connected at 1Gbps without any bottleneck.

Any hints?

Thanks

All right, so I did the override and everything is super clean so it's not the model.

If I take the bump out then so fireflies at all.
So I took the bump back on but had to blur the map to the initial blur of 1.0, I had it at 0.01.

It changes the look quite a lot, and I don't really like the look and feel of that blurred bump.
But after 20 minutes it's nearly ok :

Any other way to fix this?

Cheers
