Hopefully soon, this is really detrimental to being able to work quickly.

Hi,

At the moment the work around is to stop the IR before merging the object and then restarting it afterwards.

We'll let you know when we have some more information.

Thanks,

Rowan

Hello

Corona 5 RC2 is already released, but this bug is still here (tested also on Max 2016 and 2019)...
Do you plan to solve it in Corona 5, or it's better to get used to stop IR every time before merging (which I really don't like)? At the moment I still use Corona 4 RC3 only because I use merging very often in my workflow and this is the last version of Corona which can do that with no crash wile IR is active

Hi,

Unfortunately I am unable to give any timescales on when bugs will be resolved.

We are aware that this one is reported frequently however it is proving quite problematic to fix, but we are working on it.

Cheers,

Rowan

corona 5 in max 2017 is worse as in corona 4.

While in 4, max just crashed and you could save a _recover max file, now 3dsmax completely hangs, without the option to save.

A lot of artists, myself included, may rely heavy on the CTRL-V  CTRL-C  script, which uses a merge file method.

I'm sure that this is an easy fix, so please make this a priority.

Hi,

I can assure you that we are working on this, I understand how frustrating this is.

However if it was an easy fix we would have already fixed it.

i'm sure compared to writing a complete awesome renderer, this should be easy.. ;-)

I've just added a maxscript line to the copy-paste script, before it merges the file:

CoronaRenderer.CoronaFp.stoprender()

This will stop the interactive renderer before merging.

Thank you for this line! I've tried it and it works well for Copy/Past script. Probably the same kind of line(s) could be added to Copitor script which  I used to use and which is very effective for merging a lot of objects from different scenes. Unfortunately I'm absolute zero in scripting and I don't know how to do that, so I'm going to use modified Copy/Past script with Corona 5 until this problem with merging during IR will be solved

I just wanted to know if there are any updates on this problem solution ( sick of turning IR off, all the time ). Is it maybe possible for it to be solved in upcoming Corona 6 ?

Thanks.
