thanks for the reply key. I need to render around 6000 frames (6K) and on my 3930K one frame takes between 6 and 7 minutes roughly. So that is around 600 or 700 hours on one machine. Thats between 25 and 30 days rendertime.
I would prefer if it would render in 3 maybe 4 days.

Anyone know of a render farm that has alpha 5 running (max2013) or is able/willing to install A5. I might need a farm solution soonish. I have budget so unlike Corona it does not have to be free... ;-)

should the script convert MR or Vray physical sky to corona's? Or might that be more of a lighting convertor thingy...
For me I would also add a checkbox to change the current renderer in Corona and change the environment map as well (sky)

brazil (RIP) now vray but switching over to Corona as my main.
Also used:
MR, FR, Indigo, YafRay, Kerkythea, Maxwell etc..

Changing the blur of the map does not make such a big difference, its the value for sure. Checked in A4 and A5

I'll check in A4 and lower the blur to 0.1
In A5 though, if I devide the bump value by 10, I get a much more similar result as in A4; ie, the GI noise pattern is different ofcourse, but other than that, it looks the same(-ish)

The bump map value in A5 has lots more impact as in A4, see attached image

my 2 cents in order of importance:
1) Matte shadow. Corona delivers such real renders, you just have to be able to implement it into real footage
2) Velocity render element. you know why
3) Distributed rendering.
How are you planning on implementing DR? I really hate the vray way, cause that one has a copy of max running the entire time (ow, and I never managed to get it working). MR version is quite okay, but crashes when one of the nodes crash, leaving you without any image. Updating all the nodes would be great if that could either be with an installer, or even cooler would be that it installs the correct version automatically. Even more cool would be that more versions can be installed at the same time on all the nodes.

- Fixed bug where renderer's subanims were not named

- Fixed excessive preprocessing times in some scenes

subanims are now named? had some LOL when I tried to figure out where the passes number was at. for my Auto Coronizer BatchConvertor.

the preprocessing was caused by large multisub materials (iin my scenes that is) so this has been resolved now?
