Render nodes + Laptop workstation setup

Hi guys,
I'm looking for the best solution for my setup.
Nowadays I have only one Laptop with i7 7700HQ and 32gb. As I'm a digital nomad I need a laptop to take with me. I'm looking to buy a new one with a desktop cpu in it or a ryzen 9 5950Hx next year.But I'm also looking for the best solution to when I'm spending time at my home country, I would like to have  some render slaves to pair with my laptop workstation  so I can be more productive. For a budget solution for the render nodes what would you suggest?  Someone told me about used Xeon . What are your takes? Could someone help me with it?
