No, i haven't. Is hd cache calculated for out of camera view range too? Never thought about it.

I don't think that those bright spots are flaw of corona. In real life you would get the same. But due to imperfections of optical elements, be it pupil or camera lens, we perceiving it as glare.

Now, how to fight with it. One can add glare layer in post where those spots are. Or try to lessen this effect in render by lowering reflectivity of metal materials, increasing radius and samples of rounded corners. One can even try to increase sun size.

In your example i would even consider to turn rounded corners off on some materials.

Did you rendered straight in 360x180 or stitched out of separate images? If latter, than what did you used for secondary solver, pt or hd?

I tried once to stitch pano from 6 renders, rendered in pt+hd and found it incredible difficult to render perfectly matching renders due to hd caching.

here are some test that i made during the process , i liked the bokeh a lot ,but it takes very long to clean , i render the whole image to a reasonable size an then i cleaned the bokeh using regions
Those pentagrams is a dead giveaway of fact, that background is 2d plane. Other than that, nice set of images.

Rawalanche, if i may ask, why corona requires normal maps to be loaded with 2.2 gamma instead of linear? It's contradicts to what i used for in other render engines.

I did quick animation with this bucket, just to see how material works in animation. Have to say, i'm pleased with results. Corona is such addictive thing.

It will be available in Alpha v6, which will be out shortly.

I've registered at forum two months ago, and that statment was one of the first things i've read. Waiting is almost unbearable now :]

Jokes aside, improvements looks impressive, but i'm curious to see how it'll prove itself in really complex scenario.

You can easily do that. Just open "export.conf" file in notepad and write down settings.

... actually I could do pretty much everything I wanted quite quickly with berconmaps earlier releases, but new versions are pretty useless, they just makes some cloudy magma or stars..

Funny, i felt the same. Like something changed in bercon noise since i used it last time (many many years ago), and changed not to the better.
Anyway i get back to cellular and after a while i managed to get pretty decent results by combining couple of layers of it, like you suggested. I feel pretty happy with it, so, case closed, i think :]
