I just wanted to add some support for this.

Currently working on a scene with lots of rendered rain which I'm having to find workarounds for on

a) instancing (scene parsing with TyFlow is taking a very long time compared to Forest which is rendering fine using significantly more geometry)
b) motion blur

Ideally it would all just work out of the box.

I'd also like to bump this!

One of our teams in another office were using this on a large VRay project and saw some crazy reductions in RAM usage.

[Max] General Discussion / Animated Proxy Optimisation
« on: 2020-04-14, 12:14:45 »
Hi,

I'm currently dealing with a lot of high poly objects with procedural animations on them (noise, bend etc.).
When working with objects like this in VRay we would use the "Expand # to frame number" feature in the VRay proxy so that we could export each frame of animation to one proxy. This allowed us to bake down the animation to smaller files so that the frames don't take as long to calculate/parse.

Is there an option for this in Corona?

Have there been any developments on this?

We're looking at converting our library to use .tx files but we want to maintain compatibility across VRay and Corona.

[Max] Resolved Feature Requests / Render Mask By Layer
« on: 2020-03-12, 17:21:13 »
I would love it if we could tell Corona to render by Max layer as well as selected/GBuffer ID etc.

We use a lot of XRefs in the studio and people don't set up their GBuffers for every single object in the scene, as such we can sometimes be missing masks of specific things but have no way to select them other than merging the XRefs (this can become a pain further down the line if the client requests changes as we have to update lots of files instead of just one)
