Hi there,

I want to buy a new Workstation and I have these two systems.
It would be great if you could help me with the decision.


PSU:    be quiet! Dark Power Pro 850 Watt    
Mainboard:    Asus PRIME X399-A, AMD X399    
CPU:    AMD Ryzen Threadripper 2920X 12x 3.5GHz    
Memory:    64GB DDR4-RAM PC-3000 (4x 16GB)    
GPU:    Nvidia GeForce RTX2070S 8GB, Palit Gaming Pro

Hi. If you check the Corona benchmarks, you'll see that the 2920x is a bit faster than the 9900k. But in other programs it might be the other way around.

Personally I wouldn't buy any of them. Instead I would go for a Ryzen 3000 build, with the 3900x or the 3950x if the budget allowed so.

The other things looks fine.

Yes, I remember some similar discussion where the conclusion was that 2xxx AMDs don't make much sense.
You get faster rendering with a 3900x compared to 2920x and you do not need to invest in a Threadripper platform, as 3900x is a Ryzen.
I quickly checked the prices and 3900x and 2920x are priced similarly (~50 eur difference).
