hello, im trying to write a few tools to speed up/facilitate a few things in our workflow but i can't find any documentation referencing /descripting methods available to maxscript concerning corona (access to render elements, and so on)
Any information would be welcome
ps :i saw a link to a wiki that seems to not exist anymore.

thanks

We are a small architectural visualization studio currently utilizing Corona as our primary rendering software. As we continue to explore efficiency and optimal resource allocation, we are contemplating whether there might be more streamlined solutions available compared to our current practice.

The process of purchasing, renewing, and managing individual licenses can be quite cumbersome. We are exploring the possibility of acquiring license "packs," for example, a 30-license pack, to simplify the administrative process. Is such an option available?

Additionally, we are interested in knowing if there are any special pricing options or discounts available when procuring a certain number of seats. This would aid us in budgeting and financial planning effectively.

We appreciate your attention to these inquiries and look forward to hearing back from you

Mike

Thanks for answering.

I'm setting up an amazon machine (ec2 instance) with the software i need. After this, aws can use this "image" and duplicate it on as many slaves as needed.

thinkbox deadline tells amazon how many slaves it needs to render an animation for example.

The problem is the corona license settings are not kept during the creation of additional slaves (they are created from the "image" i provided them).

Just found this https://support.chaos.com/hc/en-us/articles/5614248365713 and im actually trying this to see if it helps.

thanks

check your pms for mail

Hi,
So i created an AMI from a deadline empty windows template where i installed max and corona 8 .
I set up the license server by clicking "open license server" in the system tab and logging into my online account (username psswd)
saved AMI after .

Now the spot instances don't find the license when i start them. Looks like the setting is lost .

Any idea how i could do to make them remember the license settings ?

Thanks

Hello

Thanks.
i was sure given annoucements of increased substance compatibility that both teams had sync.... Ill wait impatiently !

It looks like when i try to convert a substance 2 node to corona via the substance plugin, it stills gives me a legacy mat.

How can i use the new physical mat with roughness and all with the substance plugin ?
Thanks

Thanks a lot for your advice !!!

Hi everyone.
I'm part of a archviz studio and we have to replace the machines cause its a terrible mess . We have to buy 10-15 machines for freelances to be comfortable working.
Our budget is around 2.5-3k € per machine (we already have screens/mouses/keyboards)
We work with 3ds max and corona mainly.
I'm looking for a good build in those prices, and even if i'm quite interested in hardware related questions, i know the "top notch"hardware but i'm incapable of fitting "good enough" hardware with a given "low" price. If you have any idea where i could look to find "up to date" nice builds that would be very cool.(I browsed the forum and it looks like there are some available configurations but they are 1-2 years old...)
We are amd for the moment and we want to stay this way.
128 ram is a must

I generally ignore QVL lists for RAM. Memory IC's are made by a handful of big companies (Samsung, Micron, Hynix e.t.c).

I purchased: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Gskill-F4-3600-%C2%B0C17Q2-128GTZR-DDR4-128-GB-Memory-Grey/dp/B073VPCHSQ due to the great timings and binning by Gskill. According to Typhoon burner my ram is Hynix DJR, 1 step off the commonly accepted best Samsung b-die, however DJR can run with more stability at higher temperatures than B-die.

I can run all 128gb at 3600mhz @ 16, 16, 19, 20, 32 (@ 1:1 infinity fabric ratio) completely stable after using Ryzen DRAM calculator by 1usmus.

Can you ELI5 the bold part ?

Does it mean you bought this kit and you plan to somehow manually change the timings or the voltage for your RAM or do you plan to use it 'as is" ?
I ask you this question cause RAM choice is for me the hardest part, and i'm starting to look around for my next 3990 build (plan to get aorus xtreme)

Thanks !:!

Hi guys.
I want to build a new pc with the 3990 x. Starting to get info soon. If you have kinda working builds with this cpu, would be nice to share.
Thanks !!

i stumbled on the same problem

it seems that when i open the cxr the gamme is wrong . If in the lightmix panel i pu tanother value in the hdri then re enter the original value, then it becomes magically correct...perhaps itll help someone....

I 'm a bit afraid to overclock and burn my MB/CPU. Isn't it dangerous (overheat and crash/burn/die ?) ? doesn't it reduce the components lifespan ?

I 'm  using Noctua NH u14s with double mounted fan to cool my system.
I' m curious about other idle and "loaded" temps with  solutions like wraithripper, enermax, or custom.

my Tdies are :  idle 28-29 C  and loaded 48-49 C . Room temp is 20 C.

(I assumed you just wrongly worded your question, but you are asking about stable memory frequency right ? That is when that number comes from. Not CPU frequency).
yes i was talking about memory frequency.

Thanks for your answer.

Excuse me, I see in this thread multiple mentions of how 2933 is for the moment the highest stable freq for 2990wx but I can't find this info elsewhere.
Where does the info come from ?

Thank you
