That's good to know. I should probably visit their page and see if there's some interesting improvements, last time i check Sini scatter was probably 2 or 3 years ago. Never gave it a try though, so far Chaos scatter covers most if not all of my needs.

You'll need to wait for release that's compatible with the latest 3ds Max, that is Corona 11 Hotfix 2, which should be out sometime this week.

Thank you. That's intentional, old soviet cars had poor quality glass windows, which would distort the view quite significantly. Here's one extreme example: https://www.flickr.com/photos/dimal965/6240686023/ I probably could tweak the maps somewhat more, since distortion doesn't look quite exactly how i would want to, i'll leave this for next time.

Have you  tried SiNi Scatter?

No i didn't, but i think it's not free, right? I saw it has few very interesting features, which i really would love to see in Chaos scatter though.

Did you try basic troubleshooting steps, like check the exposure, see if the camera is not inside some closed object, search for incorrectly setup (e.g. open mesh) volumetric objects? Some screenshots that would show the issue might be helpful too.

If you know free scattering plugin for 3ds Max that is as capable as Chaos scatter and is well integrated to work flawlessly with Corona, then please let me know, i would dearly want to try it. Otherwise i find your question pointless, you may as well ask why Corona itself was created when there was plenty of established renderers on the market already.

Hi,

Not sure what exactly you wanted to see, but normally you wouldn't see much difference between Corona versions in material editor window. Most of the difference is expected to happen in render setup window. Could you perhaps attach example image with the different UI that you've seen somewhere else?

I'm afraid there's no way to "fix" it because that's how it works in real world and Corona being a physical render, tries to use as little non-physical cheats as possible.

Unless you'll leave some gaps between array elements and adjust UV placement very careful, it's almost inevitable that some colour spill occurs. If array isn't strictly necessary for your task, i'd suggest to replace it with Chaos scatter, it has few UV grid placement patterns and lets you colorize distributed elements based on distribution mesh's texture, which would let you achieve what you're after very easily.

It's hard to tell what you're trying to achieve, but maybe what you need is UVW map modifier with planar mapping over array and explicit mapping in texture? If that does not give you what you want, then more clear explanation of the task would be helpful.

I would say they are more different than they are similar. If you want to compare, then closer match would be xform modifier and scaling.
