[Max] Feature Requests / Saving PNG "as usual"
« on: 2023-08-04, 17:02:44 »
Hello team,
I spend around too many clicks saving my PNG images.

I usually saves them using the same settings, nevertheless, every time I do, I have to confirm those settings with a series of 6 clicks.

What I would like is a "Save as usual" line under the "Save" button rollout. Those settings could be configured somewhere in the Render Setup, or just use the same settings as the last save. Instead of picking a new name every time, it would be great if Corona decided to take "[3DS file name]_[Number+1].png" as default, and save it on the Desktop or wherever the 3D file is currently located.

It doesn't look like much, but that could change this:
1. Click on Save.
2. Click on where you want to save the PNG.
3. Click on filename, write a name.
4. Click on the format rollout, click on PNG.
5.Click on Save.
6.Click on Save again in the PNG Configuration pop-up.

(see attachment: the problem)

To this:
1.Hold-click on Save, release on "Save as usual".
(see attachment: the solution)

Multiply by amount of renders a day, save time :)
Thanks for your dedication to the users.

[Max] Resolved Feature Requests / Chromatic abberation
« on: 2023-03-10, 15:44:21 »
Hi guys,
it would be great to have a Chromatic Abberation feature, directly in the ToneMapping features of Corona's VFB. I know there is VFB+, I know how to do it in Photoshop, but it would be better if integrated.
Thanks!

On that topic, I do have an even better suggestion, here it is:

[Max] Feature Requests / Re: Access material in one click
« on: 2022-11-10, 15:54:36 »
Thanks for your answer and as much as I appreciate your suggestion, I want a one click option from the vfb to the Slate Material Editor.

The workaround you suggest involves 3 actions:
1) click the object in the scene
2) click on the SME panel
3) type assigned shortcut
Repeat

A workaround of 3 actions for what should be one click or one shortcut is just not good enough. One click would be so much quicker, and there would be no risk of accidentally moving something in the scene.

My work involves playing a lot with different materials, fine tune them all the time (little bit more blue, little bit less glossy, etc). Fingers crossed it’s gonna happen. I am impressed by the parametric clouds you implemented in v9, but as I’m not working in architecture I couldn’t care less about that. The little things guys. The little things.

[Max] Feature Requests / Access material in one click
« on: 2022-11-08, 14:40:15 »
I want to access materials faster, in one click. I attached an animated gif to show what I mean.
Shortcut could be Shift+Click, or Alt+Click, or Ctrl+Click... whatever.

Additionally,
could you work with Autodesk to make sure we can successfully apply a hotkey shortcut to the "Pick Material From Object" tool?
I use it 100 times a day, whichever shortcut I assign to it, it doesn't work (tried it in max 2020 and 2023)

+1, I could use that feature
(the CoronaLayeredMaterial is a good workaround, but it's long to setup)

Here is what I want:
on the light non-physical property panel, right clicking the exclude/include tab make a switch from exclude/include. (see image1)

I use that feature a lot, so, instead of:
1- left clicking the tab
2- waiting for the new window to open (usually 3-5sec)
3- clicking the include or exclude tickbox
4- clicking OK

Boom- 1-click feature.

Alternatively, we could have a little box next to the "+" sign that could do that trick. (see image2)

Thanks guys!

Is it gonna be available on the next Hotfix?
