There will be no support for Chaos Cloud Rendering (hence the archiving). There will be support for Chaos Cloud Collaboration, though - we have yet to see if that can be considered for 12 or not, depending on the progress of the work on the VFB.

Well, a wall is different as it is not a volumetric object but a solid one, so you clip it to hide it (else you see nothing as you are inside a solid object :) ). But for being inside water, glass, smoke, fire, etc. you don't need to clip them away because you can still see through them by the correct amount depending on the nature of the volume.

You don't mention which version of Corona - if 10 or later though, a camera knows when it is inside a water volume and when not. Is your water a cube? My guess is that the clipping is removing the "end of the water" ie it is clipping away the face of the cube that would represent where the water material should stop and air / glass begin, and so the camera now sees the water as continuing for an infinite distance as if the whole scene was underwater, as the rays cast from the camera never hit a surface that defines the end of the water it is inside.

If that is the case, the only option I can think of is not to use clipping - what are you are aiming to achieve from the clipping btw?

Given that this is material creation, as that's what the Corona Node Editor does, then that's the category where you'll find info on it (so, not about nodes, but about materials :) ). e.g.
list=PLt4UrWcQaAX__vW6okH3WAmwNdwy7Q51n&pp=gAQBiAQB is the playlist for C4D that goes through using the Physical Material in detail. Anything else on our channel that looks into material creation will also be showcased using our Node Material Editor, too. Hope this helps some!

Rolling shutter? ;)

See that David Turfitt whisky bottle in another thread about labels with thickness :) That's all C4D and totally on a par with anything from Max (well, actually it's the best bottle renderings from any tool that I've seen, but there is some archviz work with Corona from Max that lives up to similarly awesome quality).

There are indeed many more Max users, and they often have much longer careers in 3D, so that would be the cause of any apparent "difference in quality".

Ah the new ultimate in minimalist interfaces! We figured everyone had it all memorized by now so that you could just use it like  touch typing.... just kidding, there is a bug here (for me the toolbar becomes text and not icons), ought to be a fix in the next daily.

BTW please specify Corona version, as different people mean different things by "latest" - it could mean the latest daily build, or it could mean the latest Hotfix of an official release. Also, sometimes people think theirs is the latest but e.g. missed a hotfix or new daily coming out :)

Creating or selecting a corona camera crashes 3dsmax 2024 with daily march 5

"Create Corona Camera from view" works, but I can confirm that using the "Create Corona Camera" from the toolbar does indeed cause a crash, even in my basic starter scene. BTW with crashes minidumps are always useful, info on how to find it is here https://support.chaos.com/hc/en-us/articles/4649117083409-How-to-report-issues-3ds-Max

Please check this article covering the risks of using daily builds: Daily Builds FAQ
If you are familiar with the daily builds and know how to use them, download the newest one here:
Warning! There is a major bug in this daily build causing a crash once a Corona Camera is created or selected! This will be fixed in the upcoming versions.

User-Facing Improvements
  • Added a toggleable lock button for Corona Decal to lock width to height aspect ratio.
  • User-Facing Improvements: added glossiness mapping for clear-coat in CoronaScannedMtl.
  • Viewport display of camera's focal plane was enabled in the camera view and parameters to enable it and change its opacity were added.
  • Added the option to fit Corona's Pattern crop box using another object size and transformation.
  • Added the option to ignore bump in Corona Curvature map.
  • Added option to select objects in the scene that will be included in/excluded from environment illumination.
  • Added the Alpha interaction option into the CoronaScannedMtl.
Bugfixes
  • Fixed rare NAN caused by an error in VFB.
  • Fixed rare NAN in Caustic solver.
  • CoronaNormal map uses fixed gamma = 2.2 in OCIO mode for gamma correction (enabled by "Add gamma to input").
  • Fixed issue where some scenes with Chaos Scatter might load for infinitely long time.
  • Fixed issue where some instances were occasionally placed outside of very-fine meshes when using the UV-distribution scattering.

Unfortunately the scenes used in the tutorials are not available for download (use of third party assets where we do not have redistribution rights, just the rights to render with them).

By Material is already in the daily builds. The other items are more dependent on the mix of native DCC file save routines and ours, so are more complex.

Yep HF 1 should have resolved this, so if you have cases where it is still happening, a ticket with scene / reproduction steps / images / video would be best. We'd need to know things such as, was the scene opened and saved in Corona 11 before HF1? Does it always happen in the same scene,  and never happen in others, or is there a different pattern to it? Thanks!

Sounds like a good summary :) There's one other thing to consider - with 4 nodes, they can all be rendering while your workstation is left out of that, leaving it fully powered for work, IR, and other things. With a single machine, if you are rendering, then this will impact anything else you are working on at the same time.

Did you check and follow the tutorial at
? A good starting point if you are unsure of decals. You haven't shown us what material was applied to the decal object, that would be critical to see (e.g. if no material applied to the decal object, or the same material as the base object, then no result will be seen).
