Title: headoff's 'gallery'
Post by: Stan_But on 2013-03-31, 10:57:42
Something worries me - bump in curtains is '5' and looking good, but in sofa i had making bump '1' or getting more noise and artefacts. Sorry if it was early discussed

there will be some bug fixes for bump in the next release, it is possible you have encountered some old bug

I know - had read about it bug in forum. But i'm confused because the curtain with bump 5 has run clean.
I'll make more tests.

That last render is awesome! Was that still at MSI = 1? I've been putting it to 400 to try and get the ceiling's in my scene whiter / less grey.

What are your highlight compression settings and exterior light sources?
Title: Re: headoff's 'gallery'
Post by: Stan_But on 2013-10-13, 21:52:07
Thank, agentdark45)

MSI=100
highlight compression=20

if u do arch.viz you can try to set all materials in scene with albedo and without unneeded caustic effects in glass and in metal

ps: MSI=1 was only as a little test in the process of knowing Corona)) And it is not usable in everyday working

If you asking about last image workflow that setup is:
GI: default.
Material: maxblend with 'metal' ior 20 dif 0.0.0 glossy 0.9 anisotropy 0.9 + blurred layer with ior 2 + bump with procedural noise.
Lights: two emitters. One 2700k and second 8000k.

@headoff mind sharing your settings for extreme DOF ? or is it all done in post?

I find it really really hard to get rid of extreme noise when using f-stop of 2, while having things like couch/curtains in the background.

I don't know if I need to crank the internal res up or what to adjust anymore, none of it really seems to fix the problem, even after 150-200 passes its still veeeery noisy and grainy.

Cheers

Hi, snakebox!

i have tried to write there but...
just should do test and see)
for heavy-heavy DOF need to set GI/AA 2-4 and wait-wait-wait...
and realy bucket now a little better then progressive for DOF but with minimal threshold if you want get a clean bokeh

Thank, Roland!
Unfortunately I lost that material((
But it very simple material: use the Blend with one mat with anisotropic reflection and second mat with blurred glossy reflection (a sort of ggx). In both mats use instance of noise in the Bump slots

Hi Headoff

"But it very simple material: use the Blend with one mat with anisotropic reflection and second mat with blurred glossy reflection (a sort of ggx). In both mats use instance of noise in the Bump slots"
What kind of bump do you use ? I've tried with a "fiber" texture (done with photoshop) but the result is not right...

Try to use scratch texture make it not very dense and for bump use 0,01-0,002 value. And the main thing is to put the fallof(fresnel) map in the bump slot mixing pure white and your texture.

Result lower.

The bulge seems a bit overdone.
The curtain could be more puffy, looks a bit shabby at the moment and intersects with the heater.

I gues that this is geometry, 2 layers of scatterd spheres in different size density and texture.
Or particles to simulate the surface tension but with the same idea of 2 layers.
