I'm having issues with animated visibility in 3dsmax. An object is triggered to zero visibility, but it shows up in a transparent look, when rendererd with Corona.

is this a known issue?

Thanks!

Hi, can you post some example images showing this?

Also, which version of Corona and 3ds Max are you using?

[SOLVED]

When adding visibility track to object, it doesn't work with corona.
Animating visibility with "Visibility Assistant" from scriptspot works with corona.

When adding visibility track to object, it doesn't work with corona.

Cannot confirm this, it just works as is should. Even on a group containing objects (or directly on any object). Maybe you had "by layer" active in the object properties (Max design default). Even "inherit visibility" is respected correctly.

Yes, i meanwhile found out what's the poblem. i used an acrylic opaque black corona material from the official library which has volume and translucency attributes. As soon as you trigger the visibility of such an object it makes glitches and sjows up slight transparent even when not visible. I didn't know that, but now i do! :)

Thanks for adding that. SSS mode is consistent here btw. and scales with visibility.

Hello. I still have the same issue with Corona 9.
An object inherits it's visibility from a group, which has a visibility track, "By Object" parameter of the object is already set. But I see the floating subsurface stuff on renders.
Can you explain please, is there any solution or should I just avoid using a material with Volumetric Scattering?

Hi,

there is no simple solution using Corona 9 or older. You would have to animate absorption color from the current value to plain white (or script it, or parameter-wire it depending on visibility of the parent...).

But Corona v10 will do that for you. Currently available as daily build. Changelog where it got implemented:
