When using multiple inputs into the multimap texture, one set for diffuse, another for bump/displace.. Pipe all bitmaps into each section, A and B.

Save the scene, re-open and all the maps are there, but not linked into the extra slots on the multimap, the first set are ok.. the additional are lost though..

This happens at rendertime on the network too, V frustrating!

We have this logged. Unfortunately, it may be a 3ds Max bug (we are not 100% sure yet).
You could try opening the asset tracker and refreshing the textures there to make sure they are found.
