The same thing happened to me on my 3990x. At some point, 10 cores were just idling at 0% usage while the rest of the cores were 100%. I rebooted the system and it worked correctly. I suppose it is a windows bug since I have the latest bios.

I suggest you try updating your bios to the latest version, check if your power settings are set to high performance as well. Usually, manual overclocking and PBO solve this issue but if you want to run it stock then start first with a bios update.

I'm found it ... The problems are the Buckets ....

Ok, this is worth investigating. I wonder if the Corona devs are testing using cpus like 3990X and so.

I wonder how did you come to this conclusion?

Here are the prt screens. With Buckets and Wthout Buckets.
The new Corona for c4d RC3 daily build switch off buckets on Interactive rendering.
The CPU Amplitude much smaller.

I have the same problem with 3970. Found it after switching to Corona 7. The processor frequency just drops to zero, and then rises again, atk happens all the time

I have the same problem with Corona 7 processors on the 3990x and 3970x. Also the ram increases up to out of core.
Any solution?

Just to jump on this thread as it sounds similar to my situation. I have just delivered an animation and one scene has been having so many issues, it's a simple bedroom/bathroom scene.

On random frames the 'rays actually' drops down to around 200 (normally sits at 12,000,000) and never finishes the pass, it's strange as it renders the first 7 passes. It locks max so I can't save out the frame and ram usage goes up to 100% (all other frames are using 30%). It also means backburner does not continue to render other frames.

Also at the start of each new pass only one core is used then ramps up to 100% as the pass continues rendering, then drops down to 1 core as the next pass starts.

Using 3dsmax 2021, corona 7. Happy to send the scene if you want.

Same stuff here, Corona 7, threadripper 3970x, CPU is constatnly dropping load each 4-5 seconds
