Hi there,

I applied a white material to all proxies. Now I would like to retrieve the original material that is saved within the proxy file.
Is that possible to do?

No, materials are not saved with proxy files. If you deleted material from the scene, then it's probably gone.

You can merge the original object from the original scene - it will get merged with its original material.
Otherwise, there is now way to do it.
We are planning to have a cross-platform proxy format in the future, including materials too.

Got it. Then it's lost :/
Thanks.

BTW, a nice feature would be to have the option to give the proxies a default grey material temporarily.
This would allow to render everything else faster and then you can turn the actual material ON when you need to render the final.
