I've been through the list you guys provide but its simply not enough. But this isnt your guys issue. its more a lack of community size for c4d corona. Theres just not enough of us it seems.

Would you consider someone that uses c4d corona? I have 0 experience with 3ds but can learn it easily if given a brief run over.

Can you possibly explain why it currently cant convert even a standard physical material to a corona material?

Rant -
Over the years this is single handedly the most important issue I've seen everybody deal with. C4d users download models off various sites but have always had to manually add the materials and we are taunted by a .mtl file that we never get to use. I would guess that if Corona released a plug in or added the ability to import with .mtl properly it would lower my work flow time by multiple hours. I know its a difficult issue to tackle but from where i stand it is the greatest issue that Corona (and c4d as a whole) has and I'm sure others would agree.

Side Rant -
 There was ONE TIME (in my 5 years of experience) I downloaded a c4d model that was exported out of corona and it worked perfectly! Opened with the materials correctly placed and even had maps on them! But since then I have never seen this happen again. Is there a c4d corona specific website that has models and textures?; cause I've never found anything like that. If not, why isnt there?

 I got a little off topic here but didnt think this required another thread.

Hello,

I think you're right - if your computer goes to sleep mode, it seems that the time goes on, but rendering is paused. I would recommend turning off auto-sleep when rendering overnight.
I will add this to our internal tracker, but I don't think this is a high priority task as it can be avoided by disabling auto-sleep.

I use the corona high quality denoise mode and I think the computer actually does go into a rest mode as I can hear it idling lightly and not actually running like it normally does. That could be the whole issue right there!

That was my original post that you linked. the issue must not have been resolved as i thought it was. Its directly linked to my screen locking. I left renders going overnight without my computer locking and everything went fine.

Do you turn on denoising on your renders? Its helps immensely!

Also, and I'm sure you've tried this but just incase; Playing with the refraction value by lowering or raising in small increments while in interactive view may help you find a sweet spot. Sometimes, even if using real values for glass, you need to adjust it to work in certain scenes. Real values dont always give the best results.

So last friday I set up renders on my render queue and left for the weekend. I came back to the first render STILL RENDERING after 63 hours when the limit was 55 minutes for each image. Shrugged it off and thought maybe the conversion to s24 showed the time limit set to 00:55:00 but didnt actually recognize it. Sooo I went through each scene and zeroed out then re-added the 00:55:00 time limit and saved each scene and readded it to the queue. This was yesterday; today I came into work and even though the images in queue were rearranged and there was a different scene in the first spot...IT STILL rendered that first image all night and never moved to the second. Does anyone know what could be happening here? I'll contact corona renderer if we cannot find the solution here.

 

 I'll share the scene via a private message if someone wants to take a look.

EDIT : I believe it has something to do with when my screen locks after 30 minutes it stalls the progress of the render and goes infinitely. Test now

cant include bug reports when none are made. The program doesnt get that far. I found that it didnt delete the previous installations so I had to manually do it and reinstall the build

ye i saw the maxon daily build update and just assumed they didnt do it for c4d. Corona tends for forget about us C4D users

We never forget about C4D users at all :) It just takes time to do things that have to be prioritized, e.g. writing and developing a unique Node Material Editor took precedence over converting some things from Max, as we felt it filled a bigger hole in what C4D users could do. So, nothing is ever forgotten or overlooked, just prioritized as best as we can!

well it doesnt work haha. I installed the new daily build and now c4d wont even open a scene. just crashes over and over.

EDIT : Fixed by manually deleting previous installations and reinstalling.
