[Max] General Discussion / Re: infinity mirror error?

Personally, I'm amazed that
a) someone can live in the modern world and never have experienced (or noticed) this!? and;
b) that people find this 'distracting'

I love this effect, have always been fascinated by it and see it happen almost daily.

Good question - I've also stumbled upon this exact same problem before.

There might be an answer out there that I'm unaware of... but I would think it'd be nice to somehow (either in Corona texture node or Max Mapping options) to fit bitmap texture 'to face'. I know this might only work elegantly when each face is a 4-sided, rectangle, but it'd be a good start...

Dali mask was a bit random, otherwise not bad

I'll put something simple in the upload portal shortly. I'll double check, but it's likely I'm using real-world scale.

Btw; I'm using Corona 6.0 (not the hotfix)

Update: Uploaded. The randomizer is applied to a mesh, which was originally generated from Floor Generator (as I'm guessing the bathroom tiles above were, too?)

Bloody hell. Nice work!

That rock moss! And those pines, lovely.

I have so many goddamn pine trees in my collection now, and none look so good - where are these from?

And, if you don't mind my asking, what's the workflow for that moss? I think it's time I finally try rendering out some rock moss...

Not bad, but dude, that clicking noise is too fucking loud, ouch.

Hi, I just re-rendered an older scene and also noticed that the randomizer is different. It wasn't a problem for me per se, but obviously the 'seed' is creating a 'new random' (for lack of a better explanation).

I'm not sure this is really worth investigating, as people should be aware when rendering with different versions, but perhaps users should at least be informed that this issue exists...

I saw this, was dumbfounded and didn't congratulate you.

Really, really nice atmosphere and work. Well done! Just love it

Colour picker works fine for me on 2 screen set-up.

Top notch modelling mate. Well done.

I don't usually enjoy car renderings, but these have a nice quality to them, can't quite put my finger on it...

Nice work

Love it. Love it all.

You've obviously had some fun with this project.

Big scene. Was it difficult to work in? I guess you're using a lot of FP scattering?

Wow, yes, very lovely.

I especially like the closer deck view - that balance of sun/reflection/glare while still allowing us a view in to the interior is just spot on. And the detailing/texture of the old wood is just great, something I can never quite achieve.

Well done.

[Max] Bug Reporting / Re: Distributed render pixel shifting

Thank you for your reply!

We do not have a vertical or horizontal shift in this file.
Could you please clarify what is mean "to make the camera visible rendering"?
I want to try it

Hi,

I have had this issue previously.

I **think** it has to do with the camera and correction of vertical tilt. If I remember correctly, if the camera has tilt correction applied AND is hidden when the render takes place, the slave machine get's a bit confused.

My suggestion for a potential fix would be to simply ensure you make the camera visible rendering. Worth a try at least... Good luck!

Hi "to make the camera visible rendering" I simply mean that you should ensure the camera is not hidden, or on a hidden layer.

But seeing as this doesn't seem to match my previous prediction of your problem (ie; vertical camera correction) I would ignore my advice ;)

Good luck mate
