A quick feature request:

Would it be possible to have the same awesome feature from CoronaColorCorrect (the "use these settings" option) in the UVW randomiser map also? And maybe even in the MultiMap too?

Hi, sorry, I know this topic has been discussed quite a lot and put to rest on several occasions...

However, since there has been some new developments (ie; it seems DeadClown has handed over development responsibilities to the Corona team, and fstorm legit download is now available from its website) will we be seeing the capability to convert from fstorm to corona any time soon?

I ask as I'm in constant need of it and have found this plugin: http://www.scriptspot.com/3ds-max/scripts/fs-scene-converter-fstorm ... but would rather save my €25 if possible.

Any info appreciated!

Hi,

I think this might be a popular idea; how about the ability to control the amount of visibility a light has to the camera? We can currently have the light either visible or not, but why not have it 50% visible (that is, the actual light intensity is still 100% of whatever it's value is, but the light sources visibility to the camera is user-defined).

I think a lot of people currently use a 'double light trick' in scenes, one light invisible to the camera that is very bright, and another light that is visible to camera but much smaller for light bloom/glare and realism. This new requested feature might eliminate this workflow :)

Hi,

Just wondering why we don't have the capacity to add a texture map to control the rotation of Cscatter objects? This would be pretty handy, I would think, and I can't see many complications in it working in a similar way to the scale % texture map.

Hi, it seems like it's not possible to animate (that is; set keyframes) for the camera clipping parameters?

Is this correct? Any work-arounds available, if so?

General CG Discussion / Selecting (Corona) Camera

Not sure if this is a Corona thing or a 3DSmax thing (it's likely a max thing!)...

Sometimes when I want to select my camera, both the camera and target are automatically selected (that is, the target is added to the selection set). Sometimes this happens, sometimes not... always annoying. Any idea how/why this happens and how to control it?

Hi All,

I just got offered a new freelance project which includes working with a professional photoshoot of people which is intended to be inserted into my 3D interior scene. I haven't done anything like this before, and wanted to see if anyone has any advice for me. I don't have any details yet, but I'm imaging something like

Of course, I'll be using Corona, 3DS max and will obviously try to mimic the studio set-up as closely as possible to replicate lighting, shadows, camera angles etc nicely.

I'm not sure what I should be expecting, or what to look out for, or even what I should be communicating to the photographer about... so any advice is much appreciated!

Hi,

I've been making a lot of animations recently. Something sort of new for me. So, naturally now I have a feature request:

When saving the UDH file (to load from file for the rendering of each frame), why must we 'manually' do the saving first? Surely Corona could be smart enough to allow us to check a box that somehow renders the first frame (fully, with a fresh compute of the UHD), then saves this UHD cache (temporarily or somewhere specific for later use) and then continues the remaining frames using this self-created UHD?

The current process of rendering out a single pass render to save the UHD is awfully laborious. Especially when batch rendering animations...

Any feedback appreciated :D

Hi hi,

So, I'm currently working on two PC's; one on windows 7, the other on windows 10. Both have max 2020 and Corona 5.

I've recently noticed a weird problem with my IR on the windows 10 PC (the IR is coming out blurry, or more precisely pixelated....but that's for another topic). When comparing IR on the two machines I'm dumbfounded why one does full-screen IR at 1329x997px, while the other does full-screen IR at 657x493px?

Both are running 1920x1080 resolution. The only tangible difference is that one PC uses dual 27" inch set-up (the windows 7, I've cropped out the second screen from the screengrab) while the windows 10 PC displays on a single 23inch monitor.

What's going on here? What am I missing? Please see two screengrabs for comparison

Hi,

I'm trying to render an animation which features a static (ie; not moving) hair + fur object.

I have the 'coronahairmod' applied underneath the native max hair fur modifier. I have my settings as "mr prim".

My render would crash every time (either when finished or cancelled) in max 2018. My understanding was that this should not happen in 2020, but now after upgrading to 2020, it is still crashing.

I'm on Corona 5. Windows 7.

Any ideas? Thanks!

EDIT: Max seems to crash in the "cleaning up" task of corona render.

Is anyone else having issues with material library in Corona 5?

I was using the Release Candidates with no problem, but overnight I installed the full release and now it's telling me I do not have the Material Library installed (even though it was definitely ticked during installation and in the installation log it says it is installed.)

What can I do?

Edit: Windows 7, Max 2018.

Edit 2: I've uninstalled and re-installed Corona, still same issue.. grr.

Hi,

I'm really sorry as I know this has been discussed multiple times, but for the life of me, I cannot find any previous discussion!

I have a *.mov file as a texture I would like animated. This is working fine on my main PC, but my new build (windows 10, Corona 5 RC2, max 2018) it isn't working. From memory I had to install a plug-in or program or something, correct?

[Max] Bug Reporting / Weird artifacts

Hi, got some weird artifacts recently in some interior renders on C5 RC2...

I'm not sure if they're related, but before the render I got some Corona errors telling me about some NaN... sorry, but I didn't save the error log or report the bug as requested.

However, please see attached screenshots and let me know if you can tell whats happening... Thanks!

(P.S. I tried turning off adaptive light solver, but it did not help).
