If you create a blend of material that contains two corona material with different glossy, and to use the bitmap as mask, the noise from such material does not go away at all!
And I thought, this is because the material blend ignores by HD Cache. See attach.

Could you show us the blend mask bitmap? Is it high contrast or there are grey areas where two materials blend together?

This just means HDcache is not precomputed when bounced through the ball. It does not actually get precomputed on the ball and never would. the missed spots will be covered by precomputation from other pixels, so you don't have to worry, it is harmless.
