Hi,

You can use Ctrl + D to deselect any selection in 3dsmax Viewport and then use the lister to select the lights. I hope this solves your issue.

a simple scene or some simple steps which are easy to follow

Checker -> UVW Randomizer (Mesh Element mode, use U and/or V offset 0 to 1) -> pipe to 1. Diffuse, 2. Displacement. Could also not repro any discrepancy in other slots.

Good Luck

Hi Frood,

I was able to reproduce this on my end also. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. I have logged this issue into our system. I hope this will be fixed and implemented soon.

Using the Corona 7 Release Candidate - and it seems to have broken UVW randomisation.

One material, multiple maps (although the issue is apparent with just two maps) - both with identical UWV randomisation, in this case by Mesh Element - same seed, same values.

I seem to remember this making the randomisation match on different map channels - so the diffuse / bump / displace / whatever would be coherently randomised across the model - but this doesn't seem to be the case currently, each map is randomised differently making UVW randomise useless if you have more than one map in a material.

Hopefully a straightforward fix to return to the previous function? Nice.

Hi,

I have gone through your issue and it could be that I misunderstood you but according to how you have explained the issue, I am unable to recreate the same misaligned textures using Corona 7 RC 1.

Here is my inspection : https://bit.ly/2TZ6UeF

If you can share your issue with a simple scene or some simple steps which are easy to follow or a small video recording showcasing the issue, that would be great.

Thank you.

Avi

[Max] General Discussion / Re: Corona 1.3 Benchmark
« on: 2021-06-02, 20:24:07 »
Hi,

In reply to your questions:

1. No, it is not possible to set a custom number of passes.
2. Currently, It does not have denoising implemented because this benchmark is from Corona 1.3, and denoising was implemented in 1.4
3. We want to implement a new benchmark at some point but at present, we don't have this planned but in case this changes, we will notify you.

Avi

[Max] I need help! / Re: Cursor flickering while IR
« on: 2021-06-02, 15:18:07 »
Hi,

I would suggest installing a Ryzen master and set the core voltage to 1.1875. Also, can you let me know what is the current-voltage set to?

As for the CPU cooler recommendation then I would suggest using "Noctua NH-U14S". I personally use the same and find it very effective.

I hope this helps.

Avi

Hi Alex,

We made some "advanced" command-line version of the benchmark which supports multi-run & easier averaging. Please find the link attached below to download & test it for yourself.

I hope this helps.

Thanks.

[Max] I need help! / Re: Strong Shadow Catcher Flicker
« on: 2021-05-18, 17:36:23 »
Hi,

Thank you for sending in your file. I had a look at your file & I found that shadow flickering is happening because of broken XForms on the object. Resetting the X-form fixed the issue. However, this issue has already been resolved in Corona 7. If you use Corona 7, you won't even need to reset Xform and it renders fine.

Here you can see a breakdown of the test which I did.

I hope this solves your issue.

Thank you.

Hi,

This issue can also be related to some already known limitations in Corona.
- Using reflection/refraction environment overrides with HDR images may result in persistent fireflies:

Here - https://coronarenderer.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/5000516180

We would like to fix it as soon as possible, unfortunately, it is very complex so it may take us some time before we provide a proper solution. A workaround for you can be that to use the latest Corona 6 HF2 which can speed up your rendering speed & noise will also clean a bit faster than using Corona 5.

Thanks.

Hi,

Ok, I understand. My 3dsmax was set to CM. but I ran the same test again on your scene by resetting all Renderer settings & lighting the scene by the default value of Corona sun & sky.

I do see some subtle difference in noise but not as much as I see it in your render which you attached above. Here is the comparison for your review : -
https://corona-renderer.com/comparer/3dXvDH

Noise when Override is off - 6.67%
Total pass rendered - 20/20
Time: 3:11

Noise when Override is On - 8.77%
Total pass rendered - 20/20
Time: 2:36

When Override is on, Rendering also went faster thus a subtle increase in noise. If you let it run till 3:11 then both noise levels would be approx the same.

Hi,

Can you send me your scene file for a close inspection? You can upload your scene using our private uploader: https://corona-renderer.com/upload

Once you have done uploading your scene, do let me know the file name.

Looking forward to hearing back from you.

Regards,

Avi
