I reported this bug at the end of 2021 and it's still not resolved... https://forum.corona-renderer.com/index.php?topic=35100.msg192899#msg192899

Hi, check video. I encountered that few times already, seems like few last versions affected.

Hi, second part is indeed a feature request,

BUT first part about missing parameters looks like a bug. If some important parameters just missing and you're not able to add them I don't think that it should be considered as a feature request.

Hi,

there not all settings exposed in light lister, like shadowcatcher illuminator and prevent black apearance and no way to add them through column visibility.
I have a lot of scenes with shadowcatcher and I need manually go throuhg all lights and adjust settings.

Also would be nice to have exclude option in lister with ability to add objects and switch exclude/include.

Hi,

hiding/unhiding layer with corona light (and, probably, lights itself) cause max crash with latest daily. Previous doesn't have such problem.

6
But these are GPU renderers in your video, so maybe some difference here.

Anyway, we have:
V-Ray CPU, Scanline CPU, Arnold CPU on one side
V-Ray GPU, Redshift GPU and Corona CPU on another

So to me it doesn't look like it is related to 3dsmax. Looks like it's related to a particular renderer.

Hi Avi,

not sure how you checked, but in my video it happens with Corona only.

Anyway, here is another video - different PC, different 3dsmax version, different corona version and the distance between my PC and this one is around 13000km.

Again - the problem is with Corona only, V-Ray and scanline are ok. Same for Arnold (there is no Arnold in this particular video, but it was in a previous one I received, so Arnold is ok too)

I can confirm this is same with V-Ray
Looks like it's not the same

I attached screenshot

1. Big difference between 3dsmax bitmap in RGB and RAW mode, CoronaBtmap acts differently.
2. Produces correct results without adding gamma, but still showing gamma warning. CoronaBitmap produces the same result, but need to add gamma to it.

I expected that loading the normal map as a 3dsmax bitmap and corona bitmap in raw mode should give the same results without gamma warnings or adding gamma.

Thanks for the reply, but, as the topic name says - it happens only with Corona.

In my video tyflow doesn't update after Scanline and Arnold, just after Corona.
I don't have Vray, so I asked a friend to check and he confirmed, the same story on his side - Vray, Arnold, Scanline are ok, but not Corona.

So 3 vs 1. Doesn't look like expected behavior.

wow, somehow I missed that😱 the problem is fixed. Sorry for reporting without a proper check.

how about subtraction/intersection?

Hi, an old problem, I encountered it for the first time quite a while ago, but this time I managed to isolate it

screenshot 1 - geometry
screenshot 2 - bug, slicer object is a single mesh combined from 1972 cylinders
screenshot 3 - the correct result, 1972 cylinders as separate objects

I had such problems with different scenes with different geometry, one of the cases - terrain exported from gaea. I used a box to cut a "tunnel" inside and it was visible through all scene geometry. I believe the core of the problem is the same.
Scene attached.

And by the way is it possible to add a mode change to the slicer? Subtraction/intersection

Thanks, I hope it'll be solved.

Why don't you just deactivate tyflow sims that you don't need instead of hiding tyflow object? That way it should not be updating sim anymore.

This was just an example, but situations vary and it is a very annoying problem.
+ it's obviously more convenient to hide layers with sims instead of disabling each of them.

13
You did it wrong))) What's in your video is expected behavior. Selecting the hidden tyflow object will update the simulation up to the current frame - that's correct, at least that's how it works.

Check my video again:
1 - tyflow is selected from the start (I didn't deselect/select it again) - the sim happens only when Corona stops rendering, but not with Scanline and Arnold.
2 - In the end I deselected it and still it updated the sim after Corona stopped rendering.

So what's the problem with this?
I have a lot of tyflow objects in the scene with some simulations, which I baked into objects or converted to forest pack for example. Now those tyflows are hidden, I don't interact with them. Save the scene, close max, open max, working. Tyflow objects are hidden so no sim happens. Now I need to do some test render and what do I get on render end? All those tyflow start simulations one by one.

You can check it in the scene from your video, change the birth amount to 5000000, left it hidden. Save scene, then open it. Don't select tyflow. Change the frame to 50 and render with Arnold then switch render to Corona and render again, you'll see difference)

I don't have scene, it was created just to show the problem. Just 3 cylinders.
As for specs - intel 7980xe, 128Gb, Windows 10, 3dsmax 2025 and latest daily build at the moment of bug reporting.

previously FP worked the same way as Chaos Scatter.

I have 3 objects - box, sphere, teapot.
Then I scatter these objects with forest pack.
To see items scattered by FP I need to include box, sphere and teapot into cshading_mask. That's how it worked before. That's how chaos scatter works.

But now it has no effect on FP. If I include those objects - I can't see FP items in the mask.

Simply - the second screenshot should look the same as the first one, but it doesn't.
