Hello guys,
I am not a guru of hardward, for this reason, ask for the help of the experts.
I would like to update my PC, (motherboard, processor, ram and graphic card)
I have been reading about these new processors and I wonder if it is worth updating them today, I have seen very few motherboards for these ..........
What is your opinion?
Thank you in advance

If you have a total budget for Workstation under 3000 Euros, get Ryzen 3950X.
If you have a total budget higher than that, get new Threadripper Gen3 3xxx.

They all come out in November.

There is no reason to consider Epyc, new Threadripper is basically consumer oriented Epyc and there will be additional server-based platform for it as well if all the leaks/rumours are to be believed.

Absolutely, right now is not good time to buy :- ). Let's wait a month, there will be 3 interesting options.

Intel X299 platform right now is over-priced compared to Threadripper, but it will be slashed by 50perc. ! I.E the next 18core i9 will be +/- 1000 Euros, not 2000 like right now.

It will be still worse than Threadripper, no competition there, but maybe it will be better option than Ryzen because X299 is quad-core platform with 8-dimm slot motherboards.

Next month!

3950X benchmarks are out, it's fantastic chip. Didn't see any reviews for 3960/3970X Threadrippers, but apparently all should be out on Monday?

My original advice still stands, if your total budget is under 3000 Euros including GPU and 128GB ram, 3950X is fantastic choice but if you already have decent GPU so could be the 24-core 3960X.

I would still wait for next week to be bit smarter.

There is no information about 3990X outside of that single-slide. When in January (and if in January), how much (probably a lot, 3000-4000 Euro, I would say more 4k).

I am personally waiting for the reveal as well. 3960X/3970X are amazing chips, with amazing performance, but the promise of 3990X is just too ridiculous to pass.

At the moment you can't unfortunately use NH-D14 or NH-D15 as they don't support Threadripper socket. The only currently available Noctua suited is NH-U14s TR4.

You will need 760W+ PSU preferably, the 3970X can reach up to 300W power draw itself and likewise can any GPU. I would get 850W personally.
You can reuse your SSDs  and HDDs and your case for most part. Technically your memory as well but its speed would be limiting factor.
