Hi there,

I wonder what version of Intel denoiser is used in Corona 9. I am on Corona 9 hotfix1 now.

Does the current version use pre-filtering? Is there a way to turn prefiltering on if it is not on?

I get a similar splotchy effect like it is on the example images of 1.3 or 1.4 without prefiltering on the link below. Any idea how to fix this?

Thanks
Istvan

Curious for answer too. nVidia's Optix Denoiser gets updated automatically by drivers, I wonder how often Optix receives updates, it's definitely the best denoiser right now in Corona.

Not sure which version it has at the moment but it gives an insane result! I render my animation in 8K with it. The average render time per frame is 6 mins with 3900x machines! It is a complex aircraft interior scene, basically a plastic tube inside with a low light level. It definitely needs some love (fixing) in post and I had to tweak the materials but it worth it. Usually with have 30mins or over per frame render time with these scenes.

Latest daily for C4D comes w/ LegionOpenImageDenoise-1.4.1-v143-Release
I guess next Corona version will most likely come w/ OIDN v2.x that can be applied on any modern GPU (in real time) and (hopefully) temporal denoiser which is currently being worked on.

It's 1.4.1, and yes, we are aware of the new version so it may be available soon.

Here is a random example of the current 1.4.1 version with prefiltering. Sorry, I do not have the information how many passes it was, but you can see how it compares with the NVIDIA one:
