Chaos Corona 8 (Release Candidate 4) is out now, for both 3ds Max and Cinema 4D!
Everyone with an active license has access, and the downloads are in the usual locations. Please note that we have moved to a new licensing system – for those who are just getting set up on the new licensing system for the first time, please visit for 3ds Max and for Cinema 4D for how to activate the new licensing, and how to contact us if you experience any difficulties.

A Release Candidate is close to being the final release, but we need your feedback to catch any remaining bugs or other issues from real world testing. This is expected to be the final major RC before release, meaning this is the last opportunity to test and give feedback.

Here are the major features in Corona 8:
  • Chaos Cosmos: instant models, materials, HDRI skies, and Scatter presets to drop into your scene
  • Chaos Scatter: Add rocks, plants, and other details to your scene with ease
  • Customisable Tone Mapping: Create your own customisable stack of tone mapping controls, which includes the ACES OT parameter added since the previous RC
  • Decals: Easily add surface details or imperfections, which can include displacement
  • Slicer: Create easy cutaways that are faster and have none of the instability of real-time booleans
  • And more!
You can find the complete changelogs at for 3ds Max, or for Cinema 4D
