Hi, I'm using latest daily of Corona; Oct 23 - Scatter installed is: 6.0.27947+daily-2024-07-30, build timestamp: Jul 30 2024 08:30:15

Is this correct? I only ask as I'd like to use the new scattering options I've seen promoted around the place.

I'm on the same daily build, but my scatter version is 6.0.483047 timestamp Oct 9 2024 and i can confirm, distribution scattering maps are there.

Since you've posted in i need help board, can you try to render from Corona camera with projection type changed to orthographic and if that wouldn't work, change it back to perspective and reduce field of view to some very low value. The artifacts looks like NANs, the team probably will want the scene to reproduce, unless the issue is already known.

I will try to record some screen capture some time later. I will also try to go back to Corona 12, just to check if slowdown is real and not something i imagine.

I did notice slowdowns when IR is running in Corona 13. Slowdowns are not in the viewport, but rather in slate material editor. When IR is running everything in SME is more sluggish - dragging nodes around, connecting node handles, almost every operation needs to be tried 2-3 times before succeeding. Not a deal breaker, but certainly adds up to quite frustrating experience. SME was never smooth in Corona, but in V13 it's even worse than usual.

What i like to do in similar situations is to assign rayswitch material to the window glass, add tinted glass material to its direct slot and regular glass to the rest. Then you can adjust tint strength and control exterior exposure that way.

Aspect ratio lock and fit to assigned mtl button does not work very well in Corona decals. See the video for more details. I think the easiest solution to this would be to disable fit to bitmap and fit to assigned mtl buttons when aspect ratio lock is ON, the same as it's done in Corona bitmap.

You can also use Corona select material, i think it can be keyframed as well.

No, unless you need masks without antialiasing, which is almost never the case, you should try to render them for as many passes as your other elements, or close to that. Render only masks (disable shading) option lets you do that in much shorter time than with full shading enabled.

I wonder why fit to bitmap is only available in RWS mode? This makes no sense to me. Please make it available all the time.

There can be a separate fix for triplanar to always respect texture aspect ratio, so there is no need to click on every CoronaBitmap's "Fit to bitmap" to use it with triplanar.

Fit to bitmap to automatically calculate the height/V tiling (based on width/U tiling) would not hurt to have, but that will mean UVW mapping usage difference.

Sorry, i missed your reply. I think fit to bitmap is quite useful even without triplanar. If RWS mode have it then i see no reason why 0-1 UV mode shouldn't, after all they're one and the same thing.

I'm not sure if i understand your last sentence, but if you're saying this will be addressed in one way or another, then please ignore my message.

I cant sorry - however i can confirm it does it with all scenes.

You mean even in very simple scenes? I'm on Max 2024 as well and i have no such issues with Corona 13, including latest build. Maybe it's processor, video card, particular Windows build? It's probably worth to provide as much info as you can.

If you need it to work on any arbitrary place on the mesh, then i think the only solution would be to unwrap that mesh properly and use gradient ramp, or manually painted map.
