do you need the grid to be shaded? Or can you post example what the output should be? I feel like this can already be achieved with texmap render element

Hey Ondra. Actually.. it sounds like texmap would already do the job then, I guess. Maybe what would be good, then, would be to have a special mode within that element that takes into account scene shading, as you say. So you have both options.

You could use material override with a material using CoronaWire texmap. The only drawback is that it is not a render element.

Actualy a material override render element will be great, i do a lot of material variations, and to be able to render them in one or a few renders will be nice.

thank you for your response,

i know that it can look better when i plug it in any kind of color correction, but this works only when i use black and white colors, if i need textures and colors(and that is exactly the case), all goes to hell.

I'll wait for the advancements.

I have a question about Corona Distance, what kind of gradient is this supposed to be ? because it is not linear, and if i plug a noise in distance scale i get this weird result. is this the right behavior ?

P.S. And can i also get an answer for the question here ? https://forum.corona-renderer.com/index.php/topic,13210.msg87444.html#msg87444

P.P.S. Using mag 2016, windows 10

Not sure, but looks a bit like linear in gamma 2,2. It looks linear when I plugged it into color correction map and set gamma to 0,455.

I have your other forum thread saved on my todo list, but unfortunately it has to wait a bit more...

from what i know you have to increase geometry subdivision, try a mesh smooth or turbo smooth on this object.

hope that helps.
