Hi

Its possible to add more options to The saturation item in Corona VFB like photoshop:
By Master and by colors
Hue
Saturation
Lightness

This is super usefull for instance to tweak colors by camera/render. The grass is to yellow in this view, but perfect in the other, no problem i will adjust the color in VFB for the problematic view.

Thanks

New update:

In the lights properties shape rollout, the shape its not changing, but in the viewport and in render the lights change.

If i open the rollout and reselect the shape everything returns to normal. Example:

I have a light: rectangle shape in V7, open in V8 its a sphere (despite the rollout being a rectangle), i open the rollout reselect rectangle shape and the light updates to the expected shape. We have to do this "manual refresh" to all the lights that have this problem.

So from our experience there's different bugs related with the light shapes

UPDATE:

Its also changing planes to spheres in other scene.

It appears that Corona 7 lights don't translate well to Corona 8 lights

4
So we have a pretty heavy scene set in Corona V7.
When we installed Corona V8, all the plane corona lights are being converted to disks on scene opening. Is this a bug ?

[Max] I need help! / Re: Large Carpet

I looks great, cant wait for the final thing.

By the way, where did you got the carpet preset ? I'm trying to install it from the library but there's only the legacy materials. (already tried from the Corona7 RC4 dropbox)

In 3ds max I loaded library.mat located in C:\Program Files\Corona\materials. You can find the carpet preset in Fabrics category.

Thanks. Had do manual delete that folder and reinstall the library.

Very interesting approach.

May i ask were the cloth displace map is from ?

Thanks for the share.

The plan is that it will be added again, but there was never a timescale mentioned - e.g. not for Corona 6 as far as I know.

So until then the only option is to use corona color correct texmap ?

Super,

Care to share what kind of lighting system you used ?

Hdri ? (which ones) or corona sky + sun ?

What about the post processing and luts ?

Great images.

Hi,

Some experimentation with caustics.

In some images it was render in pass, other directly on beauty.

Cheers

Hi,

I'm having massive fireflies in glass with high dynamic hdri.

Already tried with and without caustics, played with GI vs AA  and MSI and i cant rid of the fireflies.

Changing hdri to another with lower dynamic range its out of the question.

UPDATE:

With corona sun/sky its the same problem.

The caustics are the same in C4D and Max, should be no difference, so not sure what you mean by "C4D users can work with caustics, we can't".

It would usually be best to disable caustics from HDRIs anyway - the general light of a scene in reality doesn't create much in the way of caustics, as it is too diffuse and not intense enough. It's single directional lights that generate caustics, things like the sun (and that would overwhelm any minor caustics from the environment). Indeed, the environment would be very hard to calculate and take a long time to clean up, at least as far as it seem to my thinking - with a directional light like the sun, you can sample efficiently to get the caustics. With an environment, you have to sample EVERYWHERE.

If you have an HDRI with a bright sun in it, I would suggest turning off caustics for the HDRI and placing a sun in the scene for the caustics calculations. Can't say if HDRI sampling for caustics can be improved, but my feeling is it would always be slower to clean up than caustics from a directional light, because you have to sample in every direction.

Thats a big bummer if we cant use caustics directly from hdri efficiently. (I'm also having the bright spots problem in an exterior)

Its must be faked because there are direct sun caustics on the shadows inside the pool.

Awesome.

Which hdri did you used?

Beautiful shots.

Can you talk a little bit about the lighting ?  Hdri (which)? / sunSky? / light planes?

Best,
