[Max] Feature Requests / Cryptomatte improvements
« on: 2024-03-04, 12:55:05 »
Hi team,

It would be great to get Cryptomatte working better;
- They only work with CXR files. What is the limitation? Can we have them working with EXR files? Multilayered or seperae? Can we have the manifest as a sidecar JSON file? Nuke will accept this OK.
- Cryptomattes should work with materials, not just hierarchies and layers.

Your feedback is appreciated.

J.

Hi Coronaughts!

Corona 9 HF2. I'm having some problems with CXR output, ZDepth, and Cryptomatte in Nuke and Fusion.

- Everything works OK in Photoshop using the EXR-IO plugin
- In Nuke, the CXR file doesn't contain the ZDepth, but the cryptomatte works as expected
- In Fusion, the CXR file doesn't contain the ZDepth, the cryptomatte is visible but doesn't work

I have successfully tested a layered EXR from VRay in both Nuke and Fusion with success.

Has anyone had success with these pipelines?

Best,

J.

Gallery / Phnom Penh International Airport - VVIP Terminal
« on: 2022-04-28, 11:37:17 »
Hello friends, it is ages since I've posted! Here is some of our recent work from Minmud.

Phnom Penh International Airport
VVIP terminal
Architect : Foster + Partners

The new Phnom Penh International Airport will be the ninth-largest in the world.

Foster + Partners approached Minmud to create some visuals of the VVIP terminal at the new Phnom Penh International Airport. We are known for our engaging environments, and Fosters + Partners wanted to trial and test different roof canopies both at the VVIP arrival and within the terminal itself. What we present here is a small selection of landscapes and compositions we created.

To repost that credit Minmud on the first line ‘Image by Minmud’ and tag #minmud. Contact us at studio@minmud.co.uk

Hello,

Here are some images and film stills we completed on Zaha Hadid's Daxing Airport. Truely an amazing building which we at Minmud all loved working on.

Gallery / The Qinhuangdao masterplan
« on: 2019-06-04, 11:05:20 »
Hello Corona friends, I'm happy to post some images here showcasing work that we recently completed on the Qinhuangdao masterplan for Zaha Hadid Architects. This project was a big challenge, we were working with cleverly generated data from the ZHA team including the locations of different tree types, traffic and other elements as particle information. The aerials were produced as matte paintings at 12K pixels wide for extra details. We are well known for creating matte paintings of large scale projects, and Corona was a great help to us in working on this massive scene.

[Max] General Discussion / Normals render elements AOV
« on: 2019-01-22, 15:43:40 »
Hello friends,

Normals do not render as I expect, is Corona using a different space for calculation from other renderers for this AOV?

[Max] Feature Requests / Corona lister and instances
« on: 2019-01-18, 11:08:04 »
Hello,

I just booted up the Corona lister and was surprised to see 6 pages of lights, when my scenes 500 lights are made up of six instances. This is probably already known but a search didn't bring up any posts so I thought I would mention it.

[Max] Feature Requests / LIGHTMIX - render element names
« on: 2017-11-16, 13:32:54 »
Hello all,

Could the LIGHTMIX setup please add the render element type / class as a suffix on the name and filename output so;

Interactive LightMix becomes CShading_LightMix-Interactive
Environment becomes CShading_LightSelect-Environment
Sun001 becomes CShading_LightSelect-Sun001

As it is now we have no way of knowing what render element output files are LightSelects for further processing (OK, I can assume that anything not named well is a light but that isn't very elegant or certain).

Thank you!

Josh.

Hello all,

I am not sure if this has been mentioned, I did have a bit of a look but didn't see anything. We have been using CIE for a recent project and I note that when you "Save all", all render elements, including non-illuminated elements (CMASKING, CGEOMETRY) are effected by the settings under the "Post" tab. I assume this is a bug as you don't really want masks, normals, etc to be adjusted with exposure. Interestingly the ZDepth seems OK.

Hello!

Apologies if this has already been discussed, I didn't find anything through search.

If you use a layered material using masks only the base materials ID appears in the CMash element. This is actually quite useful if you're using it to create a material with different glossiness settings but I would expect it to split the ID's using the masks. I hope this makes sense.

Render elements CMasking_Masks and CMasking_WireColor are incompatible with the standalone renderer (There might be others).

We really need CMasking_Masks to work on standalone for it to be useful, currently, we would need to submit a masks job separately which makes things fiddly.

Best,

Josh.
