It still seems impossible to have a projector from corona renderer without using Standard Max lights (Which not always work).
Any chance we see the option to du a real projector (like in a cinema). Or making directionality 1,0 really parallel.

Same here.

Corona keeps parsing forever, and all it takes is to move the rendering window or click somewhere for corona to jump to next step.

Forest Pack in use in the scene.
I have installed Teamviewer for remote control, and I can confirm if this happens only when working from remote. I will keep an eye on this.

I did some quick tests.

My conclusion is that any changes on Object properties as Cast shadows or Visible to Refractions/Refractions will create wrong results on top of objects with a Glossiness different that 1,0 (regardless if it is a map or just a number). it will basically show shadows, more or less dense, while Cast Shadows is unchecked.

This is a significant problem in archviz, especially for those planning to create fake shadows or fake reflections inside the 3D scene, to later add objects, like trees, in Photoshop.

Hi!

Shadows doesn´t render correctly when a map is addded to the Refl.Glossiness.
The shadow improves as I reduce the amount of the refl. glosiness map. This improvement seems to be affected by the distance to the object casting the shadow.

See attached image.

Notes:
The shadow comes from a proxy tree in this example, but the problem occurs with regular objects as well.

Software:
-3ds Max 2022
-Corona 8

Is Corona 5 changing automatically the preexisting ColorCorrection Map to CoronaColorCorrect?

Before it was possible to use Color Correction with Corona. Why is the software forcing one of the options?

The rocks displacement is good and consistent now.
Changing to world unit displacement (0,02) has been the solution.

Render times has been about the same.

Your Forest Pack transformation parameters are at 0? I am thinking about translation.

Tests with worldUnits displacement are promising;

With a value of  WorldUnits 0,03 the geometry/displacement calculation takes about the same time as ScreenSize 2,0 (About 6s). It goes up to 11s with 0,02 which is ok too.

Ram seems not to be an issue, is using around 8Gb (128Gb installed) even lowering WorldUnits to 0,02.

The quality of the displacement, at least for rocks, is as good.

I will render the animation sequence tonight and see how it performs.

I am working on a video and the displacement seems to change during the video.

Look at the rocks reflected on the glass.

parameters:
Corona version: 3
Displacement screen size: 2,0
UHD Cache: Animation (Flicker-free)
UHD Precomp from file at frame 75 on a slow animation of 150 frames.

Anyone know why?

CoronaWire doesn't make anything when in Bump, unless I am missing something. Correct me if I am wrong.

Basically this.

Corona Converter could recognize when Vray wire is being use in the bump channel to produce rounded corners and convert it to CoronaRoundEdges. Kind of an exception for this specific case.

Not sure this is a Corona thing or more a script job, however;

Is there a way to convert vray scenes to corona scenes without open them (batch converting files)?

The goal for that would be to convert a vray assets library to a corona assets library. Specially when it is heavy assets, like 3Dtrees, and the proxy conversion takes time.
