Hi all

I'm caching some shots for an animation.

We create cache max scenes per shot & have the time set to 3 secs.

After sorting scenes for 10 of 16 shots I've noticed that System > Clear VFB between renders is unticked.

Is this going to cause an issue with the cache calculation?  I'm not sure how much of the cache is determined by the render in the VFB.... of if it's not considered at all and everything's ok.

The cache frame looks like this - as you can see it's got part of the previous render because it hasn't been cleared

Hope this makes sense.

Thanks

Hi, sorry, but I did not understand your message, and I actually have many questions:

I'm caching some shots for an animation.
What do you mean by "caching some shots"?

What is a "cache max scene"? I am not familiar with this. How does one "create a cache max scene per shot"?
What kind of time do you have set to 3 seconds?

What does "sorting scenes for 10 of 16 shots" mean?

If you mean something like this:
- you are saving the UHD Cache files for different frames
- you have the "clear vfb" option unchecked
Then there is nothing to worry about. The "clear vfb" option does not affect the UHD Cache calculation in any way.
